Ok, I didn’t hear what Ryan said. I’d be interested in knowing how another chance to decrease trillions in debt has evaporated and also enables Obama to use more of the Fed’s monopoly money (that we will eventually have to pay back) to buy votes so he can do this for at least 4 more years?
The entire thing seems insane to me. How can this possibly make sense? I like Ryan - what am I not understanding?
I want a list of SO-CALLED Tea Party critters who voted for this!!
Hillary's machine has continued with the game plan despite dumping Hillary.
As she has undoubtedly pointed out to them, however, they can't hold their gains without her. Obama's a figurehead, and their plan now has no center - only a bunch of squabbling demons throwing acolytes at each other. Without the one ring to bind them, they are lost.
Yet The Bitch is permanently toxic. LOL!

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Thanks justiceseeker93.
I agree
I agree
I don’t think it turned out that badly. The deal is far from perfect, but we got more of what we wanted than anyone had expected (the TEA Party gets a lot of credit for that, even though they mostly oppose the final product).
OT Ping
This isn't going to be over in a week, I figure it will take a decade.
WHile I and others had hoped for enough steadfast votes to be obstructionist--that's right, to stop the tax and spend juggernaut, to throw a monkey wrench into the works--I and others who are realistic about this know that getting that done in only one election is a dream.
We're in this for a long fight.
This mess has been the reslut of fifty plus years of people giving in incrementally, and getting it all back in one fell swoop (short of showing up in DC by the millions with torches and pitchforks) just isn't going to happen.
We actually hope to avoid violence if possible.
There is another election coming up, and if 50% of the TEA party favored candidates don't get Beltway fever and turn on their electorates, we will have succeeded in electing another crop of principled people to help turn the tide.
It won't be done in one election, or even two, it will take time.
The last election was not the end, nor even the end of the beginning, it was a beginning, and nothing more.
So, all hope and dreams aside, we are not sniveling liberals and we are no strangers to hard work.
We are not defeated, we have only just begun to fight.
Yes, we do.
Precisely.

I’m thinking 15-20.
Let’s not panic guys-——remember that all spending originates in the House (now under Repub control). This monstrosity of a bill is just a template——Repubs can add or subtract anything they damn well please.
Ohaha knows this-—that’s why he’s in hiding-—frantically trying to think up an explanation (as the Independents he desperately needs for reelection run for the hills).
Ohaha knows he’s in deep deep doo-doo.
I dont know if this is true but a post last night claimed that this bill automatically passed the Fy12 budget for next year through deem and pass. I dont know how this could work unless it's year long CR.
Alternatively another budget fight would come up with the new spending cap levels ~ $10B of cuts (???) for FY12 which starts Oct 1.
If any of you see anything on this let me know.
The Constitution gives Congress the power to set their own internal rules.
Whats deem and pass? Its a legislative trick that essentially means that Congress will consider the budget passed without ever actually having to vote on it. The Senate, which has not passed a budget resolution in two years, will be deemed to have passed a budget resolution for this year and next year.
IOW, for the purpose of budget points of order on the Senate floor, it will be as if the Senate had done a budget resolution. This will apply to both FY12 (this year) and FY13 (next year), meaning there will be no pressure for the Senate to consider a budget resolution on the floor before 2013.
I'm sure we are in for more surprises----heck, I would not be surprised if Pubbies used the same tactic Ohaha used to jam O'Care down our throats. ROTFL.
THIS MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD---HOW DESPERATE CAN HE BE? Representative Chaka Fattah Democratic progressive told CNN host that its all good about the US debt ceiling deal. He stated that it will allow progressives to spend up to $50 TRILLION over 10 years.
"$50 TRILLION should get me reelected."
” Ohaha knows hes in deep deep doo-doo.”
Unfortunately, so are we.
That is the post I saw last night and may have pinged you with, but how could they pass those next two budgets in the deem and pass of this debt bill unless it says they are two FYs of CRs from that FY11 budget they passed a few months ago??
I dont see anything on the internet about it either.

He's from Philly.
