Savage is spot on about no liberal programs being cut.
It's got to be from the '30s (FDR) and is I am sure from the Chicago Tribune.

I'm so pissed off right now. During the Dubya stimulus plan, I constantly rallied "let 'em fail!" Now under Boehner's congress, I accepted nothing less than keeping/lowering the debt ceiling, reducing spending and taxes. But to be expected, Speaker Boehner bent to the will of Obummer and the DemocRATS.
I'm done with the Repubs. For the first time since 1988 (when I turned 19), I'm seriously considering not voting (especially since RINO Romney will more than likely be the Repub nominee). Fellow Infidels, don't concern yourselves with 2012; just attend to your jobs (if you have one), family and guns. Until a truly independent party arises, we're beholden to the Demopub Party.
They will cut the military if any thing.

I think you are right. I never pursued the matter but I recall that she is in that age group.
The Chicago Tribune used to be a top conservative newspaper. FDR, et al. were looking for any excuse to destroy 'em.
During W.W.II they thought they had it when, I think the story goes, the Tribune published (hinted at?) the fact that we had the Japanese code -- but FDR knew that if he went after 'em it'd be big news and that would for sure mean that the Japanese would find out that we knew. So the FDR Administration had to let it pass.
Check out the Great Sedition Trial of 1944 if you want more on the commie influence in the FDR times. Some anti-Stalin Americans were considered seditious by the commies in FDR's DoJ.
