1) Only be allowed in carpool lanes. Should one be found on the public highways, it must have the front two wheels suspended by a wrecker until it arrives at the impound.
2) Must come to a full stop when changing lanes to ascertain there are no other vehicles in a 360 degree, 1/4 mile perimiter.
3) Wear protective gear including helmets ~ wearing hair rollers are NOT a viable substitute.
4) Any death defying minivan owner must equip with 3" bubble wrap on all surfaces.
5) Suddenly slamming on brakes - motorcycle fishing - while videoing the attempt on a biker's life shall be taken up by the victim's pals in a remote area.
This video was clearly shot by someone holding the camera.
It makes me think it was a deliberate set-up to make some poor unattentive tailgater crash when the car made a sudden stop.
And the driver continues home unaware? Something smells fishy.
After watching it a few times, its seems like a bit of both...they're too close to the car and too close to each other to have all those bikes just casually passing one by one as the road allows.
OR the cage saw them from way back and grabbed (stomped) the brakes just as the bike caught up.
That happens all too often. I've learned to try to make eye contact when I can, but no matter what I do, there'll be some king of the road that will try and tag/sandwich you as you're sliding into formation after passing the cage that was ahead.
If I don't feel comfortable, I stay just far enough back to make sure all the road hog hears is my Termis, and wait till a twist of the wrist get's me clean away.
I have seen this video before for the motorcycle ping list and it is not of the accident in the article. Victorville is never that green too.
