Your generation gave us a chance. I’m sorry that we haven’t done so well with it.
My grandfather was in WWII. Like many back then, he lied about his age to get in and then served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, mostly on Battle Ships.
He would speak favorably of his visits to SF. He served on the USS Pennsylvania (BB-38).
I’m 62, so it would be easy for me to spot the old guard. ;>)
No, the sixties can’t take the blame. It started with FDR,
reinforced with LBJ, and Obama is putting on the frosting.
Remember the lines: When the voters realize they have access
to the funds in the Treasury through their representatives,
then they will vote for those who promise them the most.
This will continue until there is fiscal insolvency. Did
you know that the number of illegal aliens is about equal
to those on welfare?? We have the largest navy but we are
in Libya while the Somalia pirates are taking hundreds of
ships. Ask your Grand-dad what he thinks.
Sure, they’re the ones right next to the vending machines that say “Refreshing Crack!’’. They’re on the corner of Haight and Ashbury streets.
I am sure that grampa is rolling over in his grave.
In this nations rush to be all inclusive, more and more of us have been conditioned to tolerate ANYTHING.
It will be our undoing...
