In 1964 LBJ ordered the FBI to take down News Corp?
No. In 1964, J. Edgar Hoover's FBI was LBJ's political snoop, and dug up dirt on political opponents. I suggest it still goes on to this day.
Worth repeating:
From the excerpt...
The investigation was opened Thursday morning, following a request a day earlier by Rep. Peter King (R., N.Y.), who heads the House Homeland Security Committee and whose Long Island district was home to many victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Barry didn't request an investigation. His lap dogs didn't request an investigation. The FBI didn't open it on their own. The request came from a Republican in pretty good standing. So unless you think he's working for the other side now, I don't why anyone would think it's a case of "OMG-0 and his czars are siccing the FBI on Murdoch!!"

...into whether employees of News Corp. might have hacked or attempted to hack into the private calls and phone records of Sept. 11 victims and their families... following a request a day earlier by Rep. Peter King (R., N.Y.) who heads the House Homeland Security Committee and whose Long Island district was home to many victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks. How about the hacking of Republican chat and email archives, or what was done to Joe the Plumber?
