Don’t go. This is a tactic to get the House and Senate leaders in a controlled, isolated setting where he can further pressure them. Maybe their rooms and quarters will be bugged, as well. Boehner needs to get out front of this and invite Obama and Reid to the House to be presented with a bill which specifies cuts to go with any deal, instead.

Exactly, and, Boehner needs to say to the press: “The previous congress didn’t come up with a budget and has been derelict on their duties and the current president isn’t proposing anything that helps out the American public, etc. so we cordially invite them to the Hill where budgets are supposed to be generated”

Don’t go unless the Dems produce a budget that can be put on the table and discussed. The Reps are negotiating against themselves.

Note to Bloomberg: kings summon, presidents request. And if Baraq Hussein 0bama (mmm mmm mmm) thinks he is king, well it didn't work out so well for the last one, did it?

Before they agree to Camp David, I would ask them to consult these folks and see what they have to say about being a captive audience:

PR. Building up a case that the Republicans are the recalcitrant ones. He loves to get people in these damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don’t positions.

From Boehner spokesman: “The Speaker has told the White House he sees no need to go to Camp David this weekend.”

Good man.

Crybaby will go and I suspect so will the others. I also bet they cave. Wonder what deals will go on behind the scenes at Camp David. Maybe he will promise them a trip and rides on his pet toy, AF1. They all make me sick.

How many times have they been back to their home in Chicago? Once that I know of. Why go that paltry place in that dirty ole town when they can use our money for $$$ European vacations. What he’s really worried about is this is going to drag into August and mess up his Martha’s Vineyard annual trip that we pay for. FUBO

pelosi took a dig too, worm must be turning.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said a Camp David trip could delay immediate progress at daily White House talks.

“Let’s not say well, we don’t have to make any decision today on Thursday or Friday because we’re going to have s’mores at Camp David over the weekend,” Pelosi said at a news conference, referring to the campfire dessert treat.

BOOM BOOM BOOM

BREAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

House Speaker John A. Boehner has told President Obama he sees no need to go to Camp David this weekend to continue debt talks.

The White House was floating the idea as talks have grown increasingly tense and a deadline looms, but a spokesman for Mr. Boehner told reporters that it’s a no-go.

I was teaseing my wife after listening to talk radio in our warehouse. (she hates it) Music only in her world.

We do have a certain masochistic tendency to immerse ourselves in politics day after day.

Congress raised the debt ceiling 78 times since 1917 (the year they gave themselves a no limit credit card.)

That just highlights, for me, how terribly ignorant of economics I am. If you have a no limit credit card how can you simultaneously have a debt ceiling? Whether it's the water or whatever there's something in D.C. that makes them insane.

Gee, thought he was taking the case to the American people, where he could see first hand the high unemployment, foreclosure and bankruptcy, the Democrat policy effect, ...

Looks like 0bozo called his own bluff!

Trying to keep outlays smaller than income is so irresponsible. When was the exact moment when the world went nuts?

That actually may not be far from the truth. Many years ago an employer of mine told me that a banker told him, in confidence, that he would never establish credit if he continued to pay off his debts on time. Told him to apply for a loan whether he needed it or not. Make the payments on time for a few months then stop for a couple of months. Tell the bank that you ran into trouble and make partial payments for a couple of months. Then go back to paying in full and pay it off.

They would look at you as a) someone who would try hard to pay your debts and b) someone they could make money off of. They would then extend you generous credit. My boss said he did and it worked for him. I tried it but blew it. They said I needed a co-signer so I got my mother to co-sign. Of course all the "good will" for taking a loan and paying it off went to her. Doh!
