Andrea has spoken and therefore it must be true because she is a women.......but she is ridiculously wrong. She is confusing hearing, with listening, with bothering to even give a response to what was heard. Men instinctively are wired to hear a women's voice and give it a higher priority in our brains. This is why after countless studies the digital voice in figher aricraft is called “Bitching Betty”, because with all the noise, beeps, blips, radio chatter going on in an aircraft pilots would not hear an emergency caution over all the inputs. But when she comes on and says “Engine Fire Right - Engine Fire Right” above all the other noise, that calming women's voice is immediately discerned above everything else and the pilot reacts to it instantly. No my friends we are wired to hear that high pitched sultry voice and pick it out above all other sounds unless we have not gone through puberty yet.

Bookmarked to use later as an excuse.

When it comes to processing a woman's voice, they use the more complex auditory part of the brain that processes music
On the other hand, the male brain is saying we're lyrical :p

they use the more complex auditory part of the brain that processes music, not human voices.Considering the music I listen to, it is pretty well-developed and I have no problem clearly listening to and understanding women, except if they're talking rapidly, have a high-pitched voice, heavy accent, or foreign language.

We never had major arguments either. Then, she divorced me.

On Wednesday, she (another one) spoke of getting married.
She brought up the subject, not I.
We were looking for a condo together.
The following Monday, she broke off.
“Why?” I asked.
“I already told you!”
How do I get her back?

"...when I was going on and on to a male friend about something I can't even remember anymore."There you go.

But the guys in the study could easily hear and understand other mens voices as speech because that uses a simpler brain mechanism at the back of the brain. Simpler? My butt muscles. More efficient, not simpler.
Another factor is that as we get older, we lose some hearing in the higher frequency ranges that are needed to hear parts of the female voice (2,000 to 4,000 Hz). It isn't so much that we don't want to listen, but that we can't hear the sounds of certain letters and letters combinations from female voices as well.
(Some sounds of letters & combos: g, h, p, m, v, f, g, ng, t, ch, sh, s)

I'm calling BS on this. I think “Andrea Uku” is really a guy whose wife gets upset with him when she catches him not listening or saying, “you never told me that” when in fact, she did. Actually, Andrea Uku could be my husband.

you’ll listen alright or you will be sorry!
