” The plan is worth considering.
McConnel is no dummy, politically. “
Sorry - “Strategic Surrender” has never been a viable option... At some point, principle, honor, courage, and zeal IN DEFENSE OF THE CONSTITUTION, have to take precedence over political considerations....

Remember when McConnell wouldn’t help defeat Reid? Remember when McConnell did everything possible to keep conservative senators off committees? He’s a wolf in the fold.
Johnson, Rubio, Paul, Lee, Toomey and DeMint should shut the Senate down. No more unanimous consents. No business whatsoever.

Of COURSE this idea will put the blame on the GOP - and rightly so: the Constitution (remember that?) gives th House the authority to plan the nation’s finances, and we just gave control of the House to the Republicans so they could financially stop Obama in his tracks.
If the GOP turns around and ABDICATES that responsibility given to them, of COURSE they’re to blame!

Who would ever think that a little Communist Muslim boy from Jakarta would grow up to bring America to it’s knees from inside the White House?
It is an amazing story.

If congress gives him this power, why should he stop at 2.4 trillion?
Nobody trusts the SOB so why would McConnell expect him to stop at 2.4?? Screw it, why not 10.4 trilliion?

McConnell knows all that. The Supreme Court slapped down Richard Milhouse Nixon for trying that method.
The Democrats agitated to prevent it.
I think all that's happening here is McConnell is baiting the Democrats ~

They might as well make the debt-ceiling $100 gazillion dollars. This proposal effectively does away with any meaningful debt limit and does nothing to control spending.
So, it makes the democrats own the deficit? They own it now, and they don't care!
Okay, it doesn't raise taxes, but they'll tackle that one another day. The new debt-ceiling is the touchdown- the tax increase is the extra point.

NB—you nailed it.
Obama wins.
The GOP is painted as losers—AGAIN.
The GOP splits—just when we need to unite to get rid of Obama.
Obama wins again in 2012.
And all Obama had to do was lie and threaten that the SS checks would not go out and the military won’t get paid.
Remember this date July 12, 2011—this is a watershed moment- the political class in DC has been completely unmasked—the two party cabal has spoken—and the looting of America will continue.
The Democrats area criminal enterprise, aided and abetted by the GOP.

This would not be the first default, if default does indeed happen.
Also, Obama would have to choose default, if the limit is not raised.
He could certainly not choose default on the debt and choose to cut entitlements, instead.
It is the Democratic Party's choice...default or face REALITY.
