No, because by definition the Texas governorship is designed for weak control, closer to a figurehead status, whereas the Alaska governorship is a very strong design, the virtual equivalent of a totally hands on Chief Operating Executive Officer. Provides quite a different level of prep for being president. I expect she used that expression with some expectation that a few of us out here do know that difference and would pick up on it. Just sayin ...

That was not the context of the two gentleman’s comments. You twisted yourself into knots trying to say it was. If this thread makes you ill there is the “forum” button at the top and the bottom. You are free to leave, that is unless you are female and like MB and have to ask your husband first.

This is great. Imagine that mentality running the country. No, she is not Ronald Reagan, nor should she be. But she certainly shows his skill, foresight and ability to communicate her ideas.

My favorite thing about her is her flat refusal to play nice with people that want to gut her and mount her head on a wall. The RINOS, the Libs and especially the Environmentalists (my personal issue). She does not give a rat’s arse about their junk science and propaganda when it comes to energy or land use issues.

Call me a broken glass Cultist Palinista... others have ;)

I thought you liked candidates that had the guts to speak the truth. Are you saying no other Republican candidate has the sort of guts?

We have all been waiting for Sarah to jump in with just the right words on this compelling economic crisis. I hope this article is read by each and every one of the [r]epublicans tomorrow prior to meeting with the president. The problems America now face seem insurmountable, but if anyone can tear through the garbage in Washington, Sarah can, and WE THE PEOPLE will help.

I admire those candidates who have jumped into the arena thus far. I know it was a very difficult decision for each of them and their families. However, they do not have that “something” that compels common sense Americans to wake up from the lull they have fallen into with the current [r]epublican establishment, and fight to hold onto what we all hold dear. Our Constitution and our America!

The Constitution is a magnificent document, perfected throughout the years to what WE THE PEOPLE now represents. Patrick Henry wrote “The Constitution is NOT an instrument for the government to restrain the people; it is AN INSTRUMENT FOR THE PEOPLE TO RESTRAIN THE GOVERNMENT, lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.”

The government is beginning to dominate every aspect of our lives. Destroying our American companies to prop up third-world dictators, denying American companies permits for drilling while granting drilling rights and taxpayer dollars for Brazil’s oil industry. WHAT IS THIS! Why are American companies not screaming how many thousands of people they would put back to work if this administration would just get the hell out of the way!

We need a Constitutional Conservative to lead America out of this mess created by this liberal president, his liberal policies, and his liberal congress. I fear just how much more damage can be done before we can get him out.

WE THE PEOPLE have your back...RUN SARAH RUN!

Wonderful, now you're resorting anti-Christian bigotry.

No, other candidates should have the sense to present the subject in a serious manner, not a “me too” sign here afterthought.

Palin is and has always been a Reaganite. She came of politcal age when reagan was POTUS. she has governed under Reaganism all her life. We do not say she is the next Reagan. we say she is Reagan’s disciple.

And the only one in the race....

The PDSers want to take that statement and twist into us calling her the next Reagan. And i’m with you the days of the PDSers names impacting are long gone if they were ever there in the first place...

Nothing anti-christian about it. We are electing a leader. If that’s how she rolls, cool with me. Lets elect her husband since he is the leader.

She’s got Bachmann down pat.

“Did you know that I am a tax attorney?” (Bachmann) is getting as old as “Did you know I was in Vietnam?” (Kerry)

somethings need saying. this is about the thrid time that Bachmann has said something or done something to tie her to slavery issue. For some reason Bachmann can’t let go of this issue. I have no idea why but her eis a big tip. Bringing up how great slavery was while running against the first black president is not smart. It is a sure way to paint you as a right wing nutcase and will easily allow Obama to paint you as a racist. Bachmann just needs to run not walk away from the slavery issue. And never utter the word again.

I had the honor of seeing Ronald Reagan in person in 1980. He visited the college I was attending. So very uplifting as well as educational. He made me feel as though he was speaking directly to me. He conveyed a sincerity and a love of country that I have only seen in a couple of politicians.

To the extent that Governor Palin conveys the same sincerity, love of country and belief in the Constitution and the the American People, she is very Reaganesque (sp).
