I'm trying to think of a "gay" contribution to history that is of any significance. Harvey Milk? Besides being gay, and being assassinated (by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. NOT because he was gay) did he invent the lightbulb or something?
This is so stupid. PC gone wild.

Coming soon to a school district near you. This type of crap always starts in CA and before you know it , the entire country is embracing it. Look at gay marriage, a CA initiative , 20 years ago it was a crazy notion.
We're watching our country being dismantled piece by piece , and this insanity is just the latest example. Whoever beats the Marxist in 2012, I'm beginning to think we're beyond hope. I just feel bad for the kids coming up now, they'll never really know what a great country this truly was.

How about math text books be about math? And English books about English? And history books about the rich shared history that we all have? How about we try to teach our children how to be adults and survive, rather than simply promoting failed agenda after failed agenda.
The people of California have said a resounding NO to unlimited taxation, to ethnic schools, to teaching in a foreign language, to enabling illegals to invade our schools and our cities, to the entire homosexual mythology about how marriage is somehow infringing upon the freedoms of gays. Rather than to play to these very clear statements from the electorate, Republicans in the state constantly try to win by being ‘liberalLITE’.
Put forward real candidates who espouse and promise to enact the conservative agenda the people of California have voted for again and again, and you'll take back Sacramento and the rest of the nation from the liberals. Run to the middle, and you lose your base, and make the ‘middle’ wonder why both sides say the liberals are right - the only argument they present is how fast they get there.

They mustn't have education in Connecticut.

The only CA initiatives on gay marriage were Prop 22 and Prop 8 (state constitutional amendment) both defined marriage as between one man and one woman and both passed by wide margins.

That's the real problem here. I'm not as concerned about Milk about whom there is no question but there's scant verifiable history on who was homosexual and who was not in history.
Who knows how extensive revisionism could get. In the recent past it was claimed Lincoln was gay. I noticed even in the early 90s gays activists would 'adopt' peoples, living and historical, as gays even when it evidence was non existent. The question is what standards will the educational establishment use to determine who was or wasn't gay?
To: newzjunkey
Couldn't have said it better. Gay activists see "gay" in all kinds of historical figures. Their "evidence" is sketchy at best. Lincoln gay? Because he slept in the same bed as another man? That was COMMON in that era. It's not like they had hotels with turn-down service in the 1840s.
As to Alan Turing, never heard of him, but it does seem like he made some important discoveries. But not as monumental as Oppenheimer or Von Braun. And what are they going to say in the textbooks? Gay guy Turing discovered...and then he, as a gay-American...developed...in conclusion, gay man Turing...

Yes, it's true anytime the actual population gets to vote on this nonsense it's thrown out by pretty wide margins. This has to be imposed by a court, legislature or some bureaucracy. My point was like the weather, these insane notions start out on the left coast and make their way east. Our problem in the NE region is there really isn't ballot initiative so the well funded gay lobby only needs to intimidate a small group of officials, rather than convince a majority of people.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself) The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

I hope the health books give them the credit for helping spread AIDS. Why can't the gay agenda just knock it off with the kids? It is clear to see what they are up to. Disgusting.

The #1 contribution of gays: AIDS. But I am sure they will NOT mention that.
