Thank you for posting this. It was beautiful; so uplifting to hear and see all those people rising to their feet and standing with their hands over their hearts. It gives me some Hope for our Nation to see a scene this moving. God Bless the Marine who sang it so beautifully and also, I thank him for his Service to our Country.

Having a hard time believing Francis Scott Key wrote this. The pentameter is all wrong. Im sure that even song writers of the 18th century would cringe at the awkwardness of this second verse. It sounds wrong because it wasn't written as a song but rather as a poem.
