Hilarious that the democrats have take this approach, with 80-odd golf outings & 58 vacation (real vacation days, not Camp David days) days costing millions of dollars to Obama’s credit so far.
A 19th century sagereportedly Daniel Websteronce observed: Now is the time when men work quietly in the fields and women weep softly in the kitchen; the legislature is in session, and no mans property is safe.

.................
Doubly apt in these troubled times...
If all the GOP and a handful of Democrats would just flip old Harry the bird and go home, he wouldn’t have a quorum.
Just as we’re on the verge of seeing negative interest rates, will we soon see negative approval numbers for congress? I suspect they’re already in the mid single digits. What a bunch of - dicks - to quote Mark Halperin.
This way 0bama can't make any recess appointments.

No recess = no Obama recess appointments.
I was hoping to visit Washington area while they were gone.
oh dear.
No man is safe while Congress is in session.
Senate is trying to change Independence Day to Dependence Day.
Oh great!... Obama tells the senate to work on the 4th!... and where will he be??? Golfing no doubt.
Big Deal.
You can’t do nuttin without the Congress, so your fake “Staycation” is just window dressing.
Perhaps this should give us some insight into their growing feelings of aristocracy and their distain for mingling with the local peasantry.
It seems the Dems want to avoid meeting with their constituents and would rather hide in DC.
...and then grandstand about it later during election time: “We worked hard over the holidays!”
Geepers!
See how hard Congress works for us?
Sacrificing their holiday for us.
What a swell bunch of guys and gals!
/sarcasm off
I once worked at a company where the craft people were all hard core, militant union members.
They had a work ethic just like Congress.
They basically accomplished nothing significant during the regular work week, allowing work to go undone until they were right up against a deadline. They were masters at work avoidance and fabricating roadblocks: equipment would mysteriously go astray or get damaged, tools would be lost or get broken, elevators would get locked up between floors, etc., etc.
Then they would make a big production of having to “sacrifice” by working overtime, weekends and holidays to do the work that should have been completed weeks and months ago.
Just like Congress.
” Just like Congress. “
Except in one somewhat important detail - when the Union Workers finally do produce some output, however reluctantly or fraudulently, it’s needed and useful.....
simulated work.
or is it
virtual working.
