I’ve always been astounded at the lack of the obvious defense not being played against this “tax the rich” tactic of the left.

The right should simply state that “We are bringing a bill to begin taxing people like Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, the Kennedy family, John Kerry, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and all other filthy rich persons based on their net worth”

Start naming names and go after them.

DEFUND all socialist collectives, foreign and domestic.

Agreed. i would especially like to defund GOTUS — the Golfer of the United States, who once again, played golf this weekend while our nation's debt debacle is spiraling out of control.

What was the cost — in security, logistics, etc. — for that round of golf?

The path we’ve been in is unsustainable, and it may already be too late to rescue the economy and the country.

Frank Ryan made a similar argument in this article:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2719852/posts

“The situation in the United States has deteriorated and will continue to do so unless drastic action on our federal, state and local government deficits is taken. We need to trace what happens during an economic collapse. In preparation for a collapse here is what you can do personally to avoid being swept away by the tidal wave of fear, anxiety and trepidation.

During the early stages of a nation collapsing economically, the debt of the nation swells almost uncontrollably. We, in the United States are already there.”

“...and I have many, many faults of my own that require my attention...”

So do they, but they think of themselves as perfect, brilliant, without fault, sinless and heroic savers of the human race. (Absolutely obnoxious.)

IMHO

What made our path, which had been in the wrong direction for many decades, was the perfect storm which made things a lot worse and to the point where there is probably no way to recover.

What happened to the country was that the democrats took control of congress in 2006, both houses, and then they also took the executive branch in 2008, with Obama. With the liberals in full control of the policy-making and spending parts of government, we ended up with a lot more government spending and waste, and with programs which will finish us off when Obamacare finally takes hold. There is absolutely no way possible to overcome the damage which will kill the country. The only thing that could rescue the country is for the economy to go into complete collapse and we start over. Alternately, somebody could be brave enough to tell the country that, we need to end all government programs (except defense, of course) in order to “start” on the way to recovery.

“...The only ones playing class warfare and “tax-the-rich”
are the socialists on the left who don’t want to compete...”

The number of socialists on the left is increasing; the magic fourty-percent-hardcore base is growing, is thinking of itself as absolutely brilliant the more leftward it goes, and is being coddled and stroked by the media, school systems and Hollywood.

IMHO
