For comparison's sake, this is an ongoing current democrat technique via SEIU members against whatever enemy they see fit. Deaths have not yet occurred, but notably injuries have been inflicted on a black man in a wheelchair by democrat thugs.

Destroying Mecca will destroy islam utterly. It’s a vicious cult but totally brittle. Islam has a glass jaw. It won’t be able to reform and carry on, any more than the Aztecs and Incas carried on after the capture and execution of their living godheads. It will be like throwing a switch. There will be a period of mass insanity, mass unrest, mass murder, mass suicide. But Islam will gone, vanished like a bad dream.
You may be referring to a time a thousand years ago when the black moon rock might have been stolen by competing religious factions. This goes to my point. The black moon rock (or more probably a substitute) was "found" and replaced in the Kaaba. They could not carry on Islam without the moon rock. And a thousand years ago, the news did not carry the story of the purloined and replaced moon rock to the corners of the world. A crater where the moon rock was located could not be hidden from the world today. No mecca, no islam.
