Towards the end the author points out how ignorant the Dalai Lama really is. Can anyone take him seriously as a spiritual leader?

“Hello. I’m the Dalai Lama, and I believe in a dead theory of government.”
“Now, as to your spiritual problems....”
Well, feed me corn and watch me grow! The Lama may be a big hitter, but he’s a commie pinko.

(If you aren't part of the solution, there is good money to be made prolonging the problem.)

I guess he’s planning on reincarnating as a ant next time.

Now he’s a Marxist? So much for Buddhism, the opiate of the people.

I agree that the Dali Lama is ignorant. However, given the attributes a Dali Lama is supposed to possess (wisdom, spiritual advancement, etc.), this one is a fraud as well.

You always knew there was a connection between Hollyweird and their fascination of the Dalai Lama and Tibet.

Well then...glad that he had to walk out the ‘back’ door through the trash after his visit to the WH. Anyone have that photo?

So the venerated religious leader follows the creed of the man who said “The first requisite for the happiness of the people is the abolition of religion.”
Okie-dokie. I do believe the Lama has gone senile.

The Dalai Lama, as with many Buddhist teachers, will use opposite statements to shock people to reconsider their habitual thinking. Perhaps that is what he was doing here - I don’t know.
In 2009 he told a group of leftists/pacifists meeting in Philadelphia “I love President Bush” which obviously shocked them quite a bit.
Nonetheless, I am still puzzled.

I spent a week with him a few years ago and was really disappointed. He is not a spiritual leader, but a political one. He was one of the most boring speakers I have ever heard as most of the time he just sat there and read.
To: Paladins Prayer
Bad move. His lack of worldly acumen will cause many to call into question his spiritual chops.
