“... the U.S. Congress is trying to resolve the conflicting court decisions with legislation. The pending congressional bill would require states to obey requirements of international treaties ...”
I cannot believe that the present representation in the House of Representatives will vote favorably on this legislation.
“President [Obama’s] position and that of the far-left is that the U.S. Constitution is an important document as long as its provisions coincide with those of the United Nations and other internationalist organizations such as the European Union,”
Obama is violating his ‘Oath of Office’ when he takes the stand that treaties and the UN take precidence over the US Constitution. He should be impeached and convicted on these grounds.
Thanks for the heads up EdReform! I agree, it looks like something we should keep an eye on. Problem is, it's just one of a gazillion other global governance efforts designed to diminish or eliminate the sovereignty of We, The American People. To make matters worse, many of our own "leaders" don't have a problem with that. It often seems our Constitution has been left to fend for itself. Without defenders, it doesn't stand a chance.
As I posted three times above, there is no pending congressional bill would require states to obey requirements of international treaties. That bill died with the last Congress and hasn’t been reintroduced, for reasons posted above.
It would be excellent practice for keeping military skills honed. Plus they actually would be protecting our border.
Good point......landmining the border would also sharpen military skills...........a big plus.
Just so you know, I never was against the land mines. It’s a dmz, there would have to be landmines somewhere along it. Besides landmine areas are used to route people to go along other paths into other things.
So there is a place for landmines in my scenario.
