Wrong. Sarah will never again be able to whip up the same enthusiasm for herself if she cedes the field to others this time. Besides, 2016 ia WAAAAY too late for America. Bob

FRiend,
it is obvious.
everything she says.
everything she does.
eg. she has movie coming out.
she has a road trip.
THAT is evidence that she is on the road as running.
she might not continue (as might all of the candidates)
but as of now, she is ineluctable.

The political establishment in both parties would welcome the creation of a third party because it would ensure the reelection of Obama. What they really fear is a serious attempt at a takeover of the GOP leadership by conservatives which so far has not materialized.

Bachmann wins Iowa. Romney wins New Hampshire. Then comes Michigan, Nevada and South Carolina.
Romney wins Nevada (due to large Mormon population. I think it’s a caucus system.)
Michigan went to McCain in 2008, didn’t it?
South Carolina — that should be interesting. Don’t see Romney winning there. Bachmann? Mabye.

While you may feel those are requirements there doesn’t appear to be much consensus around your view.
As you obviously can see the last election featured one candidate who wasn’t born on the soil, and one, one of whom’s parents was never a citizen.
It seems to me that the entire birther debate, by focusing on the Birth Certificate, has somewhat lowered the common uderstanding of the term “Natural Born” to mean “US Citizen at Birth”.
The fact that no judge anywhere has allowed any of these suits to go forward means that Obama will forever by brought forward as an example / proof of this interpretation.

Words mean something and the founding Fathers choose them carefully.

The Hammer is correct that Bachmann is a serious contender. Palin’s issue will be the huge negatives she will have to overcome. The Media just beat the h*ll out of her. However, I disagree with the Hammer (and Bill Kristol) that we need a candidate strong on policy. We need a candidate that can communicate the message. Palin eluded to this last week. Conservatives are not short on ideas, we are short on leaders. Palin is a natural leader that inspires, that is why the media went after her.
