You can bet that the Scientologists in St. Pete WILL be allowed to keep their assault weapons. There is a lot of them there in politics, and of course, in Clearwater.

They smell an obama victory, and want to lay the ground work of a weapons ban. Though this is really close to the election cycle for this kind of thing.

"I believe in the Constitution and this is not about taking away anybody's rights," said Kornell King George III. "But people subjects do not have a right to own a personal military assault weapon."

There. What's the difference?

Gun owners like Earl Rhodes agree with the chief, but still want to own assault weapons. "If I'm in a situation where I need to protect my family, I don't want a single shot shotgun when I can have an assault weapon to do it with," said Rhodes. Rhodes owns two SKS assault rifles.

Ummm....

Criminals of course are exempt from this proposal and can rest easy that their profession will remain unaffected.

BANG! Reviving the so-called "assault" weapon meme in the battleground state of Florida, the state that kicked off shall issue, concealed carry privileges over two decades ago? This makes no sense, especially considering their tactics when they controlled the Congress. I smell desperation.

The purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to give people "a right to own a personal military assault weapon" because the people are the militia.

2A "gives" nothing. It recognizes something that already existed.

I own both a country and a city assault rifle. The city one is especially evil.

I think when they take them away from out-of-control SWAT thugs first they can think about banning them for the rest of the population.
