I looked it up because we’ve had a couple of gangs doing their stuff in our area in the past five years. Daytime: four to six Hispanic guys kick in the front door(s), run through the house grabbing whatever they want, Leave within four minutes were the tactics used by our local gangs.
In the first case they hit about 25 homes before they left the area. 2nd time they were caught after about 15 homes due to video surveillance cameras. They tried the fancier neighborhoods and it didn’t work out too well.
Few statistics are available on home invasion as a crime, because it is not technically a specific crime in most states. Persons charged with “home invasion” are actually charged with robbery, kidnapping, homicide, rape, or assault charges. But law enforcement has been seeing the increase in “home-invasion robberies” since at least June 1995, when “home-invasion robberies” were the topic of the cover story of The FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin. They state the crime is considered an alternative to bank or convenience store robberies, which are getting harder to pull off cleanly due to technological advances in security. In this same article, the FBI recommends educating the public about home invasion. Before the term “home invasion” came in use, the term “hot burglary” was often used in the literature.

>>I really dont care if Guerena was a major narco drug trafficker with keys of heroin in his bedroom and hundreds of weapons along with it. It still doesnt alter the fact that the police could easily - and more importantly, *safely*- arrest him outside of his house, then go there with their warrant and him and find everything without putting anyone if major danger.
The fact that they had to dress up in their macho man disguises, bring their little swat truck and break down the door, then shoot someone from the OUTSIDE of the house isnt the way to do things. This story stank to high heaven from the beginning and is only getting more rank, ala Waco and Ruby Ridge.
If the subject is such a danger and has such an arsenal and explosives in the house, wouldnt it be much better to seize him with the proper *arrest* warrant away from the house, then make a safe - with a premesis warrant - entry to gather the evidence for prosecution.
These SWAT kiddies need to be prosecuted for murder. Even Barney Fife was given one bullet that he had to carry in his pocket. I dont think these guys can be trusted that far from what has gone on.<<
>>If you are a sailor and are stupid enough to pick a fight with a Marine, then you deserve the beat down that you will surely get.<<
I’ll tell that to the next SEAL I meet.
SEALS are an elite group, hardly your typical sailor. Most sailors are technicians in today’s navy, most Marines are trained warriors.
They were rank amateurs. They panicked.
Want to be merc idiots who cost a man who served his country his life. Hope I am proven wrong, but I think this one big screw up.
The probably pronounce the name of the drug lord you describe as hay-zoo.
Not attacking you. Clearing the fog on the story.
I've been fighting this from day one and started a blog as a result of the outrage I experienced. (No I can't list it here.) I am a ‘64-'68 VN service marine with 21 years experience wearing blue and retired/disabled.
This whole thing stinks! SWAT was designed to respond to incidents related to actively engaged armed suspects in hostage situations and barricaded suspect situations Your analysis is spot on.
Go to the Arizona Daily Star site in Tucson and get up to speed. Witness the illogic presented on the use of SWAT in the comments. A least here at the Robinson House there are clear thinkers.
I am just waiting for my unannounced visit!
I hear you brother. I ain’t firing. I’m just trying not to jump to conclusions. Thanks, FRiend.
LOL! Ok squid, but I was a doggie, and the Navy signed nothing I received.
That’s true.

I never said any different about Marines. Have many in the family - Along with Army, Navy and Air Force. I know a lot of Marine jokes (and squid jokes). Just couldn’t let a squid joke/slam go by without using the retort that every squid will be able to use from here on out. Go Navy!
