We purchase sealift from the lowest bidder who has proven they can deliver. And, we’ve been doing that since the end of WWII...well, even before that.

Sensitive material, BS, how long was that good looking redhead spy living in new York, do you think they were the only ones. I doubt if beans and tolit paper is sensitive.

The problem with C-17 is it’s relatively small size and little payload.

Standard Antonov cargo jet has twice payload of C-17 and they have bigger Antonov which has a payload of 3 and a half C-17s.

Not only it means you have to send two to four C-17s instead one Russian. There are lot of oversized things you won’t fit inside C-17.
