Bingo!
I take my hat off to you. Being a conservative in Massachusetts is one thing. Being a conservative in a school system is another, especially if your school’s teacher’s union is ANYTHING like the Mass Teacher’s Association.
I knew a a teacher who moved out here from Colorado, and she said the MTA was totalitarian and nazi-like (in comparison)
We don't even have prop taxes where we live, that's how conservative it really is. People out here hate any type of organized govt, yet the school district employees live in their own little world of liberalism. I remember being at In-service meetings and the speaker would rant about George Bush and how his policy was destroying education. Nothing said about the current Pres nowadays, ha.
Anyway, I guess we're fortunate we can still be registered Republicans and teach here; just don't try dropping out of the NEA;;;; or you'll be gone quick, no joke how it really is.
I once got heat about bringing a military recruiter in for 2 hours to talk to the kids. Ya, it seemed pretty normal thing for me to do too.
True. You are probably right. I guess they will put out more information or this story will go the way some other stories go into oblivion.
America lives! Good post, eska...
What kind of tree do these nuts fall out of anyway?
We should post the name and picture of the teacher and any other school official who wants to ban the Stars and Stripes.
Is offend a word that comes to an 11-year-old naturally?

I realize this thread is a couple of days old, but I wanted to answer this. You wonder if this kid is familiar enough with the word “offend” to use it this way on his own. Think about it, he’s in a public school, where they probably put up a “Holiday Tree” in the lobby in December, before the “Winter Break”. I think it’s a good bet that the word “offend” is part of a public school student’s working vocabulary by age eleven.
