And Maw had the redder neck. She was a bit of a nut, and could get mighty irritated at trivial things, but refused to let the world turn her aside without a good hard fight. Alas she was a liberal — Paw was the conservative.
No offense to your mom, but every liberal I know is nuts and gets mad at trivial things. I’ve had one throw her ashtray at me, curse me in muddled English and go upstairs in her own house.
I didn’t take it as courtesy that she didn’t ask me to leave. I just left on my own.
