Exactly what is comprehensive about amnesty? I guess they’re looking for a comprehensive amnesty.

To me, comprehensive immigration reform should start with the premises that 1) significant and rapid demographic shifts are destabilizing for any nation, 2) immigration should not favor one voting block over another, and most definitely shouldn’t be designed with the intent of gaining future voters, 3) a significant portion of immigration should be targeted to those individuals that bring specific skills to the nation and to those who are most likely going to be self-sustaining, 4) immigration should be targeted to those who want to ‘be Americans’ and assimilate into American culture (I don’t mean ‘lose’ their own cultural roots. I mean actually love America, feel lucky to be here, and want to contribute to the nation). I know it’s hard to write these things definitively into legislative language, but any immigration reform should address all of these, as a start.

“comprehensive” is code for “Don’t read the details. It’s too comprehensive.”

That loathesome little worm let Ramos and Campeon rot in prison. His only goal is amnesty so 12-20 million Mexicans can stay and erode whats left of the country. I voted for Bush twice but he didn’t do us any favors. He left us with open borders and the DHS; an unholy entity that will have to be dismantled at some point. The sooner the better.

There are NO disparate laws emerging at the state level. In fact, they are all remarkably the same ~ first they copy the existing federal laws which simply aren't being enforced, then they direct the cops to check in cases where origin is in doubt.

Gonzales likes his cheap lawnboys and cheaper bedwarmers ~ so many of these Hispanic upper class types are regular old slave runner types.

Someone check on that guys bona fides to see if we can have him shipped out first.

There is no reason for illegal aliens from China, Latin America, Europe, or Africa, be given a pass on defying our legal system.

I believe that Americans should not favor the nations from which their ancestors originated or from which they themselves emigrated. That said, there doesn’t exist much that I hate - except for the ethnic-form of jingoism.

More than any other ethnic group, we’re seeing that from the amorphous group labeled “Hispanic”.

People who commit a crime, such as illegal entry, and continue to commit crimes such as identity theft or forging documents, are not people we want as citizens. Why? Because they will go on committing crimes.

The U.S. shall not grant amnesty to people who defy its laws, period.

...and to think, a bunch of you guys wanted Daniels for president. Anyone who worked close to Bush-43 (other than Cheney) should be considered radioactive, as far as I’m concerned.

Canada must be awfully jealous of all the perks that Mexicans get just for waltzing in.
