Well, you do get what you pay for. And in Mika’s case, that isn’t a whole hell of a lot.

What these people never stop to consider is: are they really worth whatever they’re paying them? I never watch Morning Joe, so other people on this forum will have to tell me if Mika’s worth whatever she’s making or more.

What exactly is her “value”?
What does she contribute?

"...how women can negotiate the salary they're worth.

Apparently extortion is one of the recommended techniques.

After child care, on-air wardrobe, makeup, travel, and the other ridiculous expenses that women in this business end up taking on, the job was actually costing me more than I was being paid.'

1) Don't men have to pay for childcare too?

2)Men don't dress on air?

2)If she didn't trowel on her makeup like a Vegas showgirl doing the 1AM show she could cut that makeup bill by at least half.

3)Men don't travel?

My Wage

“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.

For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.”

Did she ever stop to think it might be a ‘talent’ pay gap?

I mean, having little to none she should be happy they pay her at all.
