So, it turns out that the break in getting Bin Laden came from a guy we caught in Iraq in 2004.

This guy Ghul, who we caught in Iraq, was the guy who IDed the courier and made the connection to Abu Faraj al-Libi and that's when they started to hone in on him and eventually led to finding him in Peshawar and tracking him to Abbotabad.

Of course I doubt the US media will ever report this, this was in a UK paper. But one of the big breaks in the case came from a guy we caught in Iraq and ultimately we can now say that the Iraq War definitely helped us against AQ and played a key role in getting Bin Laden.

Good thing Obama wasn't President then to prevent the war from happening. Bin Laden could very well still be at large.

I wonder if anyone will bring this up and ask the WH about it. I wonder if any media types will mention it.

I'm just putting it out here on FR so at least we know about it and at leat freepers can be informed on how the Iraq War did end up playing a role in this.

The killing of OBL literally knocks out every single argument of the far left against the Bush administration. With this new revelation, it shows the value of the Iraq War, Gitmo, the other secret CIA interrogation sites, enhanced interrogation efforts, and the general WOT. And the band leader of that opposition - Barack Hussein Obama is trying to take ALL the credit. Priceless.

The left is wrestling with this right now. So far, it looks like it’s kicking their a**es. This is going to become a big problem for them as we go forward I think.

I always kind of thought that W was trying to kill two birds with one stone in Iraq. Getting rid of Saddam as a prerequisite to establishing a more normal government in Baghdad as well as drawing out the Jihadis in the heart of the Middle East so we could fight them there instead of here. Seems we were able to acquire some valuable intelligence as well. Hope we didn’t put panties on the perp’s head in the process.

That's what Carney said. When asked if Obama will now publicly admit a change in his attitude toward enhanced interrogation techniques, Carney shifted like he had explosive diarrhea and attempted to have us believe that all information obtained pertaining to OBL was acquired without EIT and was not obtained from any “one” source. BS. I wonder how much Carney got for selling his soul to be spokesman.

Bush lied, Bin Laden died. HaHaHa. The libs and Obama have spent so much time fighting against the Patriot Act, Waterboarding, Gitmo, Iraq, but they are quick to jump around to take the credit. Waterboarding is bad, but blowing out his brains was ok. Sadly, many of my lib friends (using that term loosely) will never see the truth. Thank G** for President Bush.

LOL

Holder today used the phrase "mosaic of sources" in order to dilute the probable significance of EITs in getting OBL. At the very least those dastardly overseas CIA prisons that the lefties love to hate were probably involved.

Rice: Iraq sheltered, trained al Qaeda

CNN
September 25, 2002

``President Bush’s national security adviser Wednesday said Saddam Hussein has sheltered al Qaeda terrorists in Baghdad and helped train some in chemical weapons development — information she said has been gleaned from captives in the ongoing war on terrorism.

The comments by Condoleezza Rice were the strongest and most specific to date on the White House’s accusations linking al Qaeda and Iraq.``

From the article: Today, it emerged that there were 17-18 people in the compound at the time of the attack and the Navy Seals cans took away one person still alive who could be a Bin Laden son...

I hadn't heard this part of the story until now.

That seems to be the talking points now that waterboarding did not bring about any info to lead to this raid.

I guess we will never know the truth about how all this went down.

Just off the cuff, I honestly think that this administration speaks, watches themselves on television, determines that something won't work in their favor and recants or "shifts". Early reports were that it all had to to with waterboarding; even Newsmax reported it at length. Now, notsamuch. It's like they realized, (after the fact) that it flew in the face of what they were against, before. Complete.Incompetent.Buffoonery.

Mosaic of sources? Where do these people come up with this drivel? Someone needs to inform Holder that one man - does not a mosaic, make.

After all the time liberals spent crying about Guantanamo and it's “horrific” interrogation practices, they wasted no time celebrating their personal perceived victory of OBL’s killing -or- decrying the CIA prisons that delivered them their victory. More irrefutable evidence that liberalism is a mental disorder that completely disables the ability to self detect hypocrisy.
