Consider for a moment the possibility that there was no SEAL mission - who would be able to dispute this one way or the other? The SEAL teams are not privy to missions that other SEAL teams engage in, so, is it not possible this whole thing is contrived? Without a body, without demonstrable proof, I’m prepared to remain skeptical.
Intelligence dividends — good point.
Ok.
I — gasp -— agree with Obama for the first time.
Some would say the same about Jesus Christ.
?
This story sounds like a phony promotion of Obama’s decisiveness and war making an abilities. Trying elevate our Kenyan idiot chile. To me it is highly unlikely we are sending stealth bombers to hit anything in Paki-land
IOW this tall tale is a plant by the Obama propaganda machine
There is a problem. Bush’s record is a problem.
“I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.”
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
“I am truly not that concerned about him.”
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden’s whereabouts,
3/13/02
This is going to haunt the GOP for years in every campaign commercial.
It’s discouraging.

Those remarks are taken out of his intended context, but I agree with you they left the door open for political opponents to use against him.
Bush did some good things, but communication skill wasn’t his forte.
I tire of hearing Clinton and Obama talk on and on. But often Bush stammered out a few words, instead of concisely an clearly explaining his intentions.
Obama is going to be tough to beat.
There’s Internet ramblings that this was actually a White House coup by Clinton and Panetta, who did the operation this way because of Obama’s resistance.
The Left took the side of the terrorists every chance they got. Liberals did their best to scream in one ear of our troops in the field and down in Gitmo while they tried to do their jobs, making it difficult and attempting to demoralize them. They tried to force civilian trials and grant the rights of citizenship to these scumbags who were responsible or complicit by ideology in the gruesome deaths of thousands of innocent Americans.
I WILL NOT FORGET WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. Never
Bears repeating.
Family member, preferably sibling or parent. Not a %100.000000 certainty, but a very very high probability match.
I disagree. I do not think this is going to haunt the GOP in every campaign commercial.
I don’t think it invalidates anything I said, either. I don’t see anything discouraging about this, it is a good thing that OBL is now fish food. So it isn’t discouraging.
But it does provoke anger.
The analogy would be a man who decided to build a unique kind of engine with a concept that is more efficient and powerful than anything ever conceived. For years, he would be derided as a crackpot and idiot by his neighbor who would call the police anytime his garage lights were on late at night or if he was hammering a piece of metal.
This guy writes letters to the editor of the local newspaper (who is incidentally one of his best friends) puts up flyers around the neighborhood, agitates other neighbors to protest in front of the guy’s house, and complains at the town hall meetings each month in an effort to get the guy to shut down.
The guy trying to build the engine goes bankrupt from all the legal battles, has to put all his belongings up on the auction block, then gets sick and dies due to the stress.
The neighbor buys the house and all it contains, takes the engine and changes history with it. Not once does he ever mention his neighbor who conceived, designed and built the engine, and is the subject of flattering stories in the newspapers and publications owned by his friend, talking about how he knew all along this engine would change the way engines work.
This doesn’t change the fact that the engine is by far the best thing ever to have churned out horsepower.
It also doesn’t change the fact that the SOB who killed the other guy off is a low-life SOB.
Agree. Plenty to argue with this moron about but, given the success, this is not one of them. Give them credit for getting the guy. Congrats. Now what about jobs, gas prices, healthcare, radical Islamic theocracy in Iran, etc. etc. etc.
It was better. The Pakis would have scattered dead babies all over the property and claimed it was a Day Care
I see no problem with agreeing with the end result while vigorously disputing the cause, effect and credit for a result.
I bear in mind the quote attributed to Ronald Reagan: “There is no limit to what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit.”
True, but when that same credit is going to be turned into political munitions the way the Japanese made weapons with our iron exports to them prior to WWII, I am not inclined to give leeway to them.
I don’t care to be impaled on the sword of credit that I extend to them, which is in this case, very minimal.
I think it was better to get the DNA proof as well. But to go to all that trouble only to dump the body at sea makes no sense to me.
