No safety??
How do we know it was the kid who pulled the trigger?
Sad story.
Exactly! But still, I don't even want to read the article.
Fishy.
He didn’t know the gun was loaded? He left it lying on the ground? And — with a toddler in the house?
Guns don’t kill people...stupid people who can’t figure out how to use them properly do...
I am truly sorry for all involved while at the same time I am somewhat skeptical.
They will test for powder residue.
It’s been a long time since I’ve fired an automatic and I don’t own one (never have, only revolvers) so pardon my ignorance in this question:
Wouldn’t the gun have to be more than just “loaded” for the toddler to be able to squeeze off a round?
I wonder if it is possible that he could have held the kid’s hand there and pulled the trigger?
Something just seems fishy here.
If it’s a Glock or a S&W MP,and it has a round chambered-just pull the trigger.
The man had a concealed-carry permit but had never fired this gun and thought it wasn’t loaded?
*sniff, sniff*
I’m no gun expert, but why would you have a loaded gun laying around when you have a two year old child?
Things like this wouldn’t happen if there was common sense laws about who can have children.
I agree with you and the others who think something is off here. I wonder if there were marital troubles, impending divorce, etc.
How hard is it to squeeze the trigger? Does a 2 yr old have the strength?
The gun was just lying around on the floor? Uh-huh.
Sounds to me like babydaddy got tired of babymommy and came up with the dumbest excuse ever. The powder residue test will tell...
Ditto.
My 22-year-old daughter can barely pull the trigger on my 9MM.
I’m calling Shenanigans on this one. What a great suspect: a kid in diapers who can’t verbalize what really happened. I think a lot of detective work needs to go into this one. IMHO
I don’t know how many pounds pressure it takes, but my MP has a fairly light trigger. The Glocks-I just don’t know, never owned or shot one.
He had a loaded 9mm on the ground? A two year-old could grab the handle, aim it up, and squeeze the trigger?
It’s MSNBC.
Wouldn’t somebody lazy leave it on a counter or a table?
