Yet another captive state on the way to liberation.

After 8 years of democrat Brad Henry as governornor, all I can say is “Its about damned time”!! Henry and the dems set this state back 30 years. We have Republican legislature (both houses) and a Republican Governor now. Things are gonna change fast and the dems are squealing like a pig under a gate!....red

I think the real key is to end the mandatory union dues deduction.

We need to keep this up and spread the union money too thin.

Well, that sucks for some, they will have to earn their pay from now on or get fired.
Does that mean that a job isn't a right? /s

I think the real key is to end the mandatory union dues deduction. The article says that Oklahoma is a 'right to work' state...so, no one is forced to join the union (or pay union dues) unless they want to. The issue here is that the state, counties and municipalities do not have to negotiate with the unions.

A private individual business or concern can be counted on to have their own best interests at heart when negotiating with employee unions.
And if they make deals that are too favorable for the unions, it is only their own money at stake.
An elected official can NOT be counted on to have the publics best interests at heart when negotiating with public employee unions (often ones that donated and supported their campaign if they are a Democrat).
And if they make deals that are too favorable for the unions, (as they are wont to do) it is OUR money at stake.
As Coolidge said about money in D.C. (paraphrase) “Of course they want to spend lots of money, there seems to be tons of it laying about and it doesn't seem to belong to anyone.”

Review Wisconsin. Good luck to the folks in OK. You’re in for one hell of a ride. Stay steady, stay safe, and fight! Never give up. I’m here in WI, experiencing it first hand. I hope your people stay true. Be vigilant!

Sweet! I sent Ms. Fallin some money early on in her campaign. Turned out she won handily, and probably didn’t need it. Glad to see her carrying through on conservative ideals.
