It was only a matter of time. In my business I used to have about 10 suppliers in Kalifornia. Mostly in the LA basin. All but one have moved out to Nevada, Texas or Colorado. One even moved to podunk Oregon - he says it is better for his business than Kalifornia.

“”When I discovered how substantial the savings would be, I quipped in front of my staff, ‘We should move to Texas.’ I was surprised by what happened next - people approached me one by one, came in my office, closed the door, and asked that we move to Texas. Once I saw the employee reactions, I'd like for the relocation to occur.””

Well, speaking as a Texian, I say you and your bunch are welcome just so long as you leave your your limousine liberal, socialist, enviro Nazi foul habits back where you come from...

I’m a sixth generation Californian living in Arizona and I’ll never return to the Golden State. It appears that neither will my children.

My previous company I worked for (DoD contractor by the initials of LM) is taking most of the work to an expensive area - the DC area. From talking to people who are still there, they are “strongly” encouraging people to move to the East Coast as work in Colorado is ramping down.

I made the move a while back. Best move I ever made, took my California salary to Texas, lived conservatively in Texas (i.e., lived in an apartment, then small house, then bigger), and never had a financial concern. Having a (relatively high) property tax in lieu of an income tax meant that I could live almost tax-free (at the state level) regardless of my income, provided I had a cheap house. And when I work overtime, I only pay federal tax on it - not more state income tax - huge advantage.

So, yea, Texas is very cool. But I have run into people that have brought their disjointed California values over and it’s rough to have to deal with them. The best way to describe politics in California is that Democrats there are simply Marxists and Republicans are all over the board, with a small minority of hard-core conservatives (like Reagan), but with most people calling themselves Republicans picking and choosing their positions from both sides. You cannot even have an intelligent discussion with these types because you’ll hit a nerve - like the Socialized Medicine where they’ll go off the wall (in support of it), but everything else they discussed before that made you think they as conservative as Texans.

That’s just punishment...glad you’re out (assuming you have a decent job). That is one reason to be conservative with money, even if you’re in a low-cost state. If you do have to move there, you can at least have a wad to start out with (but it would suck see it disappear as a down payment).

Another major DoD contractor with the initials of NG announced about a year ago that they would be moving their corporate HQ from Los Angeles, Kalifornia to Falls Church, VA. According to articles, the move out of the land of fruits, nuts and communists is supposed to be completed this summer. The exodus from union tyranny and socialism continues to gain steam.

If you come to Texas, leave all those California progressive ideals at the border.

Amen to that! Got a couple of recent libtard neighbors that moved here from Marxachussets and California a few years ago. Last election both yards were filled with Obama/Biden and every other socialist-loving pinko running for local and state office. Not one thing ever happened to any of those signs; in fact, nearly everyone in the neighborhood agreed that the signs were an indication of just how ignorant the inhabitants were.

A retiree neighbor placed one McCain/Palin in her yard and there wasn’t a day that went by it wasn’t either taken or destroyed by the next morning. She got so mad that she had one of her sons stay over at her house to see if he could catch the creep that was destroying the signs, which of course he did. Surprise... her libtard neighbor... the son went over to the libtard “neighbor” the next day and frankly stated that if one more yard sign was touched on his mother’s front yard, his a$$ was going to be kicked, regardless of whether it was him or not... not one single problem afterward.

Flash forward to after the election... the mother was working in her yard one day and noticed that the libtard garage door was open while walking down the alley... leaning on the side of the garage wall were about 3-4 McCain/Palin yard signs. We assumed they were “extras”(obviously “a$$ kicking prevention signs), just in case one of his like-minded socialist morons decided to mess with her yard sign. She hasn’t has a problem since.

Welcome to Texas... liberal a-holes.
