For me, you can't STAND it and DETEST it, (this over and over and over business for almost a month now) and yet, oddly enough, you get used to it on the other hand and get toughened to it and even humor creeps in after a while. Weird.
I guess that is how they felt in Sarajevo after awhile just trying to go out shopping. In fact, what CAN you do about it -- except get right back to work after checking with loved ones, colleagues, the gas meter, elevators, etc. etc.
I sure hope CNN does not blow it out of proportion again and scare everyone back in the USA over it.

Same here. I have become hypersensitive to them and it often feels like the ground is moving even when it isn’t. I have a coat hanger suspended from a hook over my computer so I can check.
My sense of humor has become decidedly warped. (Note tagline). I figure if I don’t laugh I’ll freak.
I think every time one of these hit, another 500 foreigners decide that it’s the last straw and starts making plans to leave. I can’t. Won’t. I won’t abandon my wife and she won’t abandon her mother.

I am just surprised at how we USED to think a 7.1 was huge!

I second that emotion. On the day of the big quake,
I had the TV on SkyNews, and the computer on freerepublic, looking for the real first hand accounts.

They’re still pretty scary, mind.
But March 11 gave me a whole new perspective on total fear.

Still can be, depending on depth and soil conditions.

You posted information for the 7.1 Earthquake on 07-April-2011, not the earthquake today 11-April-2011.
The earthquake today is a 6.6 magnitude earthquake.

There are having a number of aftershocks in the area -- the largest was a 5.6 magnitude quake in the last hour.
Most of the aftershocks appear to be in this area East/Southeast of the Fukushima Prefecture...

what else is there to do :pWell, in my case, seeking out clean undies would be on the short list. Thankfully, I've never been in much of a quake.

6.6 was our Richter reading for the Northridge quake in SoCal, and that was horrific in my experience of EQs.
