I know that. But is there an error?

Yes. “To cow” means to put another person in a state of fear. That is the verb needed in the headline. Pork (subject) cows (verb) contenders (direct object) would be the accurate, if rather dopey, base sentence.

“To cower” means to expresses fear; this would be the correct verb if the subject were “contenders.”

I’m aware of what the words mean, which is basically the same thing. Either could be used correctly in the headline.

Nope. I cow Pat with my impressive rage. I cower when OldTax-lady phones. Not the same thing.

.... But Pawlenty defends his pork. As governor, Pawlenty upped Minnesota's ethanol mandate. ....

And as usual, guys like Pawlenty are not only part of the problem, they are the problem. Cut everyone else's share of the bloated pie but don't you dare even look my way. Pawlenty is a damn tit suckling fool!

Disappointing that Palin and Bachmann duck the issue. At least Kristy Noem comes right out and states her predilection for it.

I guess I’m just thankful the caucuses don’t start out here in California - where I live.

Don't worry, if AB 80 passes you won't have any say in the presidential nomination process. You'll be voting in June 2012 while the nominee will probably be decided by mid-April.
