It is interesting to me that the Federal Reserve Act was the beginning of farmers sucking on the government teat. Even cow-state Messiah William Jennings Bryan went along with it, despite his self-proclaimed hate of bankers and Wall Street.

You think the bank, any bank, keeps your collateral after you repay the loan?
Okay, they gave the Fed collateral, paid back the loan and the Fed kept the collateral. Now what?

The point is, you are making statements and assumptions without or using limited supporting and linked data. Therefore, your posts amount to disinformation.
I saw the link. The article is wrong to claim that defaulted bonds are worthless, those bonds were backed by both collateral and by the borrower's credit. Defaulted simply means they were late on a payment, but far from worthless.
Are you assuming a bank keeps collateral after the loan is repaid?
From what I remember about the First Great Depression, the farmers were in the mist of the industrial revolution. They started to grow more crops because of the invention of the car. They used their pastures for the horses to grow more food. That is why the food prices fell so hard. Everyone adapted to this by growing more food.

You're right, I assume that when you repay a loan, the bank releases your collateral.
If you deal with a bank that keeps your collateral after you repay the loan, I suggest you find a new bank.
Well, you know what? I have been doing research a helluva long time ... and there is only one conclusion I have drawn. Don’t assume a thing. Never.
