Just out of curiosity, how do we know who the rebels are and who the forces loyal to Kadaffy are?

A barrage of U.S.-led airstrikes opened the door for Libyan rebels to retake the eastern city of Ajdabiya Saturday, handing President Barack Obama a tangible example of progress as he defends the military action to war-weary Americans. Gee, Wally, that sounds good and all but how come The AP doesn't say if any innocent women were harmed in the barrage?
Gosh, Beav, ya big goof. It's because Barack Ubama is a DemocRAT and it doesn't matter how many innocent women and children a DemocRAT kills to get his poll numbers up. Don't they teach you nuthin' at school?

Massachusetts Democrat Sen. John Kerry, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the events in the Middle East could be "the most important geostrategic shift since the fall of the Berlin Wall." Perhaps a little context is in order here. Just to be clear, does Sen. Heinz-Kerry consider the fall of The Berlin Wall a good thing or a bad thing?

"The United States should not and cannot intervene every time there's a crisis somewhere in the world," Obama said in his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday. But with Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi threatening "a bloodbath that could destabilize an entire region ... it's in our national interest to act. And it's our responsibility. This is one of those times." And, equally as important if not more so, it give Barack Ubama a chance to build up his military bona fides heading into a Presidential election year.

Does the USA care whether or not the Libyan "rebels" are supported by al-Qaeda? Does the USA, or anyone else for that matter, care that the Libyan "rebels" ARE al-Qaeda?

How can anyone possibly defend this action? Who knows? Why don't you call and ask them?
John McCain: (202) 224-2235
Lieberman: (202) 224-4041
J F'n: (202) 224-2742
This should do for starters. One from each alleged party.

Obama = Al Qaeda ally? Hamas helped collect donations for his campaign in Gaza as I recall. Not only that, he was endorsed by Gaddafi. Watch 1:00-3:15.

I will not hear a word against my former CO, the quietly heroic Lt. Kerry.
(Bet you didn't know he had the same initials as that other famous hero from MA, JFK!)I was with him on that Christmas Eve Midnight Nude Swim up the Mekong into Cambodia to capture NAZI* spies at the orders of soon-to-be-President Richard Nixon.
Lt. Kerry generously awarded me my Boy Scout Swim Merit Badge, with Red Cross Cluster. Just the kind of generous guy he is. I had to force the modest fellow to include himself in the awards he deserved as he wrote up that after action report:
The Double Secret Silver Star
The Croix de Guerre avec Palme
The Pour le Merite with Double Diamonds und Ritterkreuz
The Triple Purple Heart
The Cloud Banner with Thousand Elephants (rare)
The Victoria Cross
The Medaglia d'Oro (entitling the bearer to free espresso on the Via Veneto for life!)
I had insisted on the Congressional Medal of Honor, but Lt. Kerry, he said he didn't deserve it. What a guy!
*Bet you didn't know that, either. NBS!)

Gee, Wally. That might work for all those folks out there in television land, but what about the Libyans? Do they only care if Republicans kill their mothers and infant baby brothers? Won’t they, like, get back at our soldiers when they start occupying stuff?
I dunno, Beav. Main thing is, the President’s poll numbers go up. So long as they keep the bad news off ‘til next November, everything’s fine. After that, we can say, “let that be a lesson to you, young man” to President Obama, because he’ll still be President.
Gosh, Wall. If he’s still the President, how’s he gonna learn a lesson?
I dunno, Beav.

A bad thing, of course. Now the UN has one less member, all on account of that stupid speech by Reagan. This is all his fault, and Bush Sr’s, too. It set a bad precedent, and governments started toppling all over the place, and they weren’t even replaced with radical Muslim regimes!/sarc

The Libyan Fighting Group LIFG = Rebels.
LIFG as an affiliate of al-Qaeda. The leader of LIFG (rebels) fought against us in Afghanistan.
many good links on this here
We can not put this all on Obama.
We did the same thing in Kosovo, we can not define our enemy so we fight for them sometimes.
