Did he have any ideas on how to get rid of the commies in America?
Not specifically as I can remember. He was emphatic about educating people on the evils of socialism/communism and once awakened, they would weed out the bad people. He said communism is like a cancer and very insidious. Yuri was more into exposing what was going on than solutions.

I think that IS the first step to stopping it. Communism is an ideology, so it can’t be defeated unless it is confronted, exposed, and isolated in the public forum. All these types of radical ideologies thrive on secrecy until they are entrenched enough to act openly, and by then it’s usually to late to stop them short of bloody conflict.

Regarding the Walia Haddad connection, this relationship is fictionalized in the Carlos mini-series from StudioCanal. They don’t pull any punches, showing the Soviets and their minions funding and directing the various Mid-East and Marxist terror groups portrayed.
They don’t go into Carlos’ early days in Russia, or the possibility he recieved KGB training there, but I guess there’s not a lot of solid documentation of that.

I think the root cause of this sickness in the electorate was explained very well by Bezmenov, when he talked about the purposeful infiltration of the schools and the pushing of the demoralization strategy. If we have any hope of undoing the damage, we have to first get our kids out of the hands of the Commies’ useful idiots, and then try to “re-educate” as many adults as possible. The internet, with places like FR, I hope, can help with that task.
However, there are so many adults who just wouldn’t bother to go to the internet or other sources to learn anything. I know a lot of folks who probably haven’t picked up a non-fiction book since they got out of school. They’ve been inculcated with intellectual laziness that is working against us. Maybe we can reach them with more entertainment-oriented outreach, and trick them into swallowing some medicine at the same time? The left has adopted this strategy pretty well; see the Daily Show, Doonesbury, Michael Moore, etc.
I think it’s going to take a terrible ordeal for them to wake up. But even then, most won’t get it. Too bad we have to suffer the consequences of all this.
