LOL! No problem, Kenny. Just wanted to correct the record. YOU are excused. “Ole Roscoe” on the other hand will be hearing from me today. ;*)

Well, it's taken a long time to get to this point (starting the year I was born), and Republicans and Democrats are equally guilty. Now it's time to come to grips with the underlying issue.

Congress, in the grand scheme of Madison and Jefferson, is us. That is, We, the People of the United States, exercise Our sovereignty through representatives in Congress assembled.

War is an act of the sovereign. Only our Congress can bind the whole People, through a Declaration of War. I do not believe a limited AUMF can accomplish the same purpose, since it leaves the authorizers an escape hatch (to blame the President if things don't go well). The last sentence of the Declaration of War against Japan says, "...to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all of the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Congress of the United states."

No President can do this. The Supreme Court cannot do this. The United Nations CERTAINLY cannot do this.

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WTF IS “OBAMA NOTIFIED CONGRESS OF HIS AUTHORIZATION.” HE DOES NOT HAVE AN AUTHORIZATION UNTIL CONGRESS TELLS HIM. ONLY CONGRESS CAN AUTHORIZE MILITARY ACTION. OBAMA CAN COMMAND IT AFTER IT IS AUTHORIZED. NOT THE UN, NOT NATO, NOT ANYONE BUT CONGRESS AUTHORIZES ANY KIND OF MILITARY ACTION BY USA FORCES. IMPEACH OBAMA FOR DELIBERATELY FLAUNTING THE CONSTITUTION HE IS SWORN TO UPHOLD AND PROTECT. KNOWINGLY & WILLFULLY IGNORED THE REQUIREMENT FOR CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL.

So, there must be hearings in a committee before you are satisfied that someone publically is excoriating the Obozo Administration? There wouldn’t be enough time left in the life of the planet Earth for such things to happen.

Yes, a President violating the constitution so blatantly would call for emergency hearings if the constitution meant anything to the leaders in the Congress.

Which goes to prove the point of what I said at the beginning of this discussion. The GOP leaders in Congress could care less about the constitution.

He’s been consistent in his rejection of the constitution’s rule of law and the Congress (both parties) have been consistent in agreeing with him that he and they are above the constitution. Sick. They have to go.

You’re not much up on just how the world of Washington D.C. works, are you? The wheels of Congress move slowly, which is exactly what our founders wanted. Just because there are no committe hearings right this minute in time, does not mean there won’t be any in the future. Picking up your toys and going home because you can’t get your way right this very minute isn’t all that mature, now is it?

Now you are getting personal, huh. This is the way you act when you lose an argument? I thought better of you than that.
