Agreed. Dying so young is such a waste of resources. A big white rug could be very usefull, but at just 4 years old the taxidermy bill would be more than the rug is worth.
Now the 8 1/2' brown I got in Alaska in Sept is now residing in the living room, providing the obligatory background for naked baby pictures.
It is sad that he is dead, but that was precisely my first thought as well.

Lucky he wasn’t in the wild or he would have surely drowned from the melting icecaps just like the cartoon polar bears in Al Gore’s movie.

Polar bear Knut has died.
It’s the same as with the stray tomcat who let us feed and love on him, but decided the housecat lifestyle wasn’t for him. Make the time they have good, knowing it may not be for long.
Good advice and it goes double for people.
I watched of video of his last minutes. I wish I hadn’t. It was very, very sad.
