Just build a couple new refineries. Shovel-ready jobs right there.
And if they could find some way to use demoncrats as landfill, there would be something useful for them too.

if the Republicans really believe that was really a job-creating idea, why dont they put it on the floor? Good question. Have the Republicans put anything worthwhile on the floor this year?

I just heard on Rush today that the US granted Petrobas [sic] the ability to drill and have an underwater storage container for oil and gas that THEY WILL NOT GRANT TO US COMPANIES. Well, naturally...Petrobras is Georgie's outfit.

Yep, a real problem. Which is why North Dakota has 4.5% unemployment statewide, and anyone who wants a job in the western part of the state has one.
(HINT: It's because of oil drilling!)

The oil patch (exploration and drilling) here, at least, is non-union, and that's so throughout most of the Rocky Mountains. Why unionize when you get over $20 an hour (to start), full benefits, and
don't have to pay any union dues?
Maybe it is different in the downstream end of the industry, or offshore, but not so on land.
Besides, if the AFL-CIO had their paw in the till, you know the Democrats would be offering subsidies.
