So are ecofreaks. Totally unstable. All the time.
“Greenpeace was also concerned about the lack of information about the total amount of radiation already released, and whether the ponds for spent radioactive fuel - outside the containment area of the reactor - were secure.”
Because Japan wisely reprocesses their spent fuel, they probably have very little setting around, like we do. Thanks Jimmy Carter.
Great photos Cheetahcat, I haven’t seen those. I’ve argued until blue in the face with envirowackos about this PC power lunacy using available data and first hand accounts of ranchers/farmers that live (or used to) next to turbines (West Texas).
There are many dangerous problems associated with this technology as well as wildlife empact, but gee, since it’s green power, who cares....
Nothing like toxins wafting over the countryside from these fires. My guess would be bearing blow-out/overheating, shorts, lightning strikes (is that in the ball park?). Now add to that the sheer numbers of windplants that need maintenance, road systems, power grid, safety measures, etc., it’s a huge “footprint”. A
nd then my wife was wondering how firefighters can fight such a thing, good question.
Thanks for this food for thought.
I used to be on a fast attack, many years ago....

The gear technology they use heats the lubricating oil very hot and there is a lot of it up there to burn.
Greenspeace may be right. We should consider going back to safe, renewable whale oil for lights and heating.
you seem to still be on the fast attack
greenpeace is always unsafe says logic. These eco-dolts are so illogical and mislead that I am surprised they haven’t hung them selves or ingested sulphuric acid as yet. They want everyone (except for them selves) to live in a 12th century mode of existence so we don’t tarnish Ghia, their earth god. I am so disgusted with their lunacy I just might go out tomorrow and purchase 5 gallons of motor oil and pour it on some baby harp seals or something. On second thought, I’ll just sit here and ponder their never-ending lunacy.
how could we do that without killing the whale maybe we could just hug them real hard?????
If you squeeze them gently enough—like`sea-kittens’—you can milk the oil from their bung-holes.
It helps to hum `Michael Row The Boat Ashore’ as you milk them. They really like that one.
