I don't know how others feel, but it seems a bit less than convincing.

Tom, I've been posting Palin threads for over two years now, and have seen literally thousands of Palin-related posts. I could care less if you are convinced or not, but the truth is, there is indeed an undercurrent against strong women in politics on this board, so much so that it has become a running joke among Palin supporters as we see it almost on a daily basis.

The "Stop Sarah" piece points directly at the general feeling within the GOP good ol' boys club that a woman has no business running for the GOP nomination, much less the Presidency, which Santorum pretty much blurted out at CPAC. You can ignore it if you wish, but it is there, and it will destroy the GOP if they don't get their heads out of their arses.

I post here to fight the good fight for Palin and the U.S. military. I've seen too many posts from certain people (invariably PDS'ers) over these past two years saying that "women have no business in politics," that "they should stay home and take care of their kids," and that "they want a man as President and NOT a woman." Like a previous poster said, do a keyword search for 19th Amendment, and you will see it plain as day. And, as I said before, just check in with the Palin threads each day, and you'll see it there too.

I don’t think that the fact that not everyone here at Free Republic is a full-throated supporter of the presidential candidacy of Sarah Palin is evidence of “an undercurrent against strong women in politics.” But if you do, hey, it’s a Free Republic, right?

As far as how much you care, or don’t care, about whether or not you’ve convinced me, you may as well know that I didn’t refute your paper-thin tissue of “evidence” to teach you anything. I doubt your protective shell of ignorance and emotionalism can be breached by any earthly force.

I refuted your claims for the benefit of others, some of whom may be new to this website, who might have made the mistake of taking your assertion seriously.

Not everybody who are against or are cool to Sarah is sexist but there is a line of them led by Pissant (a known anti-Palin person) who said so directly that he did not want a woman to be CIC and was almost thrown out by Jim Robinson for it. Plus there is a group of ‘Moralist’ around here who feel that a womans place is only in the home and kitchen and raising kids and they have attacked Sarah and called Todd a weak man for neglecting his duty as a father and husband.

Thanks for that. I was (as I mentioned) vaguely aware that there was something up with Pissant because I've seen other posts where people say things like, I don't know... "wait till Pissant sees this" or things like that. I did have the impression that Pissant was at the center of some sort of brough-ha-ha, but I didn't know that it was because he opposes Sarah Palin on moralistic grounds involving her sex.

Personally, I like Sarah Palin; I think she's the most Reagan-like politician to come along since the end of Ronnie's term in office. She seems to make a lot of the right moves (although, I'm bound to say, Reagan made all the right moves, at least during his campaign in 1978 and 1979; he committed not a single misstep that I was aware of), and she seems to "get it."

The only thing is, there have been politicians that looked good for us before, and lots of us bought in to them, including myself, only to be disappointed as we got into the actual campaign. I think we have to look at all the possibilities, gather lots of data, before we decide whom to support. Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Sarah Palin, maybe others (Scott Walker?) will emerge in the next 12-15 months, and we have to choose the most electable conservative we can if we are to have a chance to defeat this piece-of-work administration.

After the Camp David Accord the Egyptians were glad to have the Americans in.

Mubarak knew where his bread was buttered. And he tried, as much as his style of government went, to embrace the West.

Look on the bright side. The muzzies are gonna get what they have coming.
