What I heard to day on the Mike Gallagher show was a man who said his son was on that bus and thankfully survived. He told MG that U.S. soldiers carry guns, but WITHOUT AMMUNITION. He quoted his son as saying that if he had bullets, he could have killed the muzlim puke.

You never locktite the ejector rod on a S&W revolver. It is assembled with dry threads and torqued to spec. The QC problem was due to improper torque. This (improper torque) was also the reason for other S&W revolvers (probably the same vintage) to have cracked frames due to barrels being too tight, and barrels breaking at the threads and falling off during firing.

That said, revolvers can and will jam, just not as often as bottom feeders. A worn M-19 will lock up tight if the nose of the trigger that contacts the cylinder stop has excess wear. Bullet pull due to recoil is a revolver killer as well.

Also, too light (or broken) trigger return spring will lock the trigger in the rear position after firing.

Also, a pierced primer or broken firing pin on a revolver can lock one up.

Also,......etc....

When I went to Desert Storm/Southern Watch, we went through Philadelphia, Shannon, Ireland (1st time) and Frankfurt, Germany (not Rhein-Main 2nd time).

Guess the anti-gunners are going to be calling for manufacturing only guns that automatically jam, hey?

Fabrique Nationale d’Herstal makes some of the very finest firearms in the world including many for the US military, such as the SCAR.

The Browning HiPower 9mm pistol, the model 35, was the last gun John M. Browning designed and was the only firearm used by all countries, axis and allied, in WWII. Browning claimed he fixed all the problems in the 1911 with the HiPower, the first high capacity “Wonder 9”.

The HiPower was the weapon of choice for the British SAS for many years and is one of the finest pistol designs ever conceived and is the basis for many recent pistol designs.

However, I am sure your life is too precious (”I wouldn’t bet my life on one”) to be protected by a pistol used by millions, literally, of professionals.

You could be right. My .40 Jericho 941 never has jammed after a hundreds of rounds of Remingtons, Federals, Blazers or any other domestic ammo. However I picked up some Serbian Partizan .40 for the price. Got a jam every two mags. Switched back to American, problem solved.

I am armed every day and not with bean bags. And I am an ordinary joe. I have a ccl. So does Mrs FE. It is just a different time now. We live in a city of 6 million, many from Mexico and in the narcotrafficante business. Be prepared.

One Victim had been assigned to the 48th Security Forces Squadron at RAF Lakenheath in Britain, while the other victim had been assigned to the 86th Vehicle Readiness Squadron at Ramstein Air Base, near Frankfurt. And left two others wounded. “There were still six bullets in the magazine”, the prosecutor said. Those casings saved at least six other lives - the number of cartridges left in the magazine. Just as I suspected one airman was local and assigned to the motor pool, he was the one driving the blue bus. I can see Military personnel in civilian clothes arriving from all over Europe to Frankfurt International airport. But they should all have to go to a secure staging area in the airport and be picked up in a civilian bus to take them down to Ramstein Air Base. And Thank You for your Service.

Thank you for the detailed information in your post.

And regarding your: “Thank you for your service.”

I’ll answer as my father (Korea veteran) answered:

“You’re worth it.” ;)
