You and prisoner6 seem to be saying that there WOULD be a net energy loss for us, therefore it isn't worth doing. For example, current ethanol production requires a large amount of energy input for the whole process and many people say we get back less than we put in.
I am saying there would NOT be a net energy loss for us since a large part of the energy input is free from the sun.
Sounds like a disagreement to me.
The process in the article in not algae-based. It uses cyanobacteria. To achieve high output, it requires much more concentrated CO2 than you find in the atmosphere, such as the exhaust from a power plant.
