Even Catholic schools in some area’s have changed. Last one I was affiliated with was in Oregon. All the nuns left so they hired lay teachers. They even hired and ex-nun to be principle. The worst part was she was married to an ex-priest. I went round and round with the Pastor over that one. I wish I knew the answer to all this but I’m glad as hell I no longer have young ones in school.

Don't be silly. The $100K claim was made about teachers in Milwaukee.

No rational person would want to work in Milwaukee schools.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2679670/posts?page=2 has some interesting stuff about Milwaukee schools. I suspect there’s a $100K position awaiting you ~ maybe in that vocational school!

MOST people chosing a career as a school teacher intend to teach kindergarten, primary and elementary school.

Those positions require qualities that probably aren't going to boost their SATs but they are usually nice girls who mean well ~ at least that's how they seemed to me when I was in college, and over the years.

I'm not sure they'd want someone more in tune with being the top nurse in Critical Care in a major highly ranked hospital.

BTW, I went into the background of the claim on $100K teachers and it's pretty upfront about that consisting of total salary and imputed retirement and medical benefits.

What they're not upfront about is it looks like they loaded ADMINISTRATOR COSTS in there as part of the benefits package.

That's like claiming that your boss is one of your benefits ~ we had some people here who laughed and hooted at the idea, but they didn't come back with any better conclusion.

There is a big difference between the cost of having a teacher and what you pay that teacher!
