Yeah. They could at least hold congressional hearings. Theres no risk in just taking sworn testimony on the issue in a bipartisan committee hearing.Uh, they were elected to fix the budget, not have hearings on birthing.

HA! That’s what got under my skin with Mr. O’Really :
“Ill save you the time, heres the script:
The Factor investigated. We found birth notices in TWO Honolulu newspapers. Thats it. The issue is BOGUS. Birthers just hate Obama.
That’s what got me started on my research of the newspaper microfilms from the newspapers that “printed” the obama birth announcements. I couldn’t believe that he proclaimed the second hand emailed images his staff printed off of a blog were “thoroughly investigated by the Factor”.
So, I went to the Library of Congress, then I sent a close friend to Honolulu to both libraries that house these microfilms. I can help Bill out if he’s really interested in being fair and balanced.
Hey Bill! He is some REAL research for you buddy! It’ll open your pinhead liberal mind up a bit:

So what? The Democrats don’t have the votes to influence the debate in the House.
House Republicans ran on a platform of investigating all things Obama and they won by a landslide. The eligibility investigation can begin after the budget is signed into law.
IF and I repeat IF this is the constitutional crisis that birthers say that it is, it should take precedence over other issues.

In this case, sworn testimony could provide little but hearsay.
Subpoena the docs.
It’s not an “either/or,” it’s a “both”. Dr. Chiyome Fukino, former Director of Health and Dr. Alvin Onaka, Registrar of Vital Statistics can provide eyewitness, corroborating and expert testimony AND the documents can also be subpoenaed.
Who says that the documents subpoenaed and possibly sent by the new Democrat administration in Hawaii will be identical to what was seen by officials of the previous Republican administration?
To: jamese777
Sure. Call in his family fi you want. Some of them said he was born in Kenya. That’s fine. But the most important thing here are the docs.

There’s no need for a subpoena. Obama (PBUH) can and should simply authorize the schools to release his transcripts and the State of Hawaii to release the long-form. Problem solved, everybody happy.

I agree.
However the House of Representatives has one Committee that is their primary investigative committee. It’s called The House Committee on Oversight and Governmental Reform. It is now Chaired by Congressman Darrell Issa. That would be the appropriate place to take up the eligibility/natural born citizen issue.

And since that hasn’t happened in the more than four years since Obama first announced his candidacy for the presidency....

I agree that the documents are the most important factor in resolving the issue.

I agree with you that the documents are the most important factor in resolving the issue.
My point is that there are also other factors and witnesses that have had custody of those documents that are also important. For example, wouldn’t you want to ask if the Obama birth records have ever been amended or altered?
Wouldn’t you want to ask whether the State of Hawaii ever issued that short form COLB to Obama and when?
To: jamese777
Your point is well taken.

There’s no need for Republicans to subpoena anything. The cries for the promised transparency grow louder every day. The American People will not stand for Obama’s stonewalling much longer.

OK, that’s fine with me.
As I said, it’s already been four years now. I guess we can all wait a little bit longer and in any event, the 2012 elections will be here before we know it. The lack of promised transparency will be an excellent campaign issue.

Tuesday: O’Reilly opens bashing demonstrators. Says he has never heard Walker lie. Quotes polls showing Walker leading over demonstrators.
