This note writing would not go well in North Carolina where I practice... A note for work would require a chart with vital signs, a physical examination, and a plan for treatment of the particular malady for which the person was treated. This chart would have to be readily available for review . Fraud ? YES very clearly.. These bozos are an glaring example of political correctness done stupidly.
He better have gotten paidl. The state needs to demand all receipts and get their due tax revenue. They need to pay the teachers after all.
The docs writing the notes in WI seem to believe they can hide behind privacy laws to do what they’re doing. They’re glib and cavalier in all of the videos and reports that I’ve seen.
Andrew Breitbart approached one for a note and was diagnosed with “Walker Pneumonia” as his malady.
I hope what these doctors are doing is not allowed to stand.
"Wisconsin hospitals and teaching programs should lose their accreditation.
They have already lost their previously earned 'respect'."
At a minimum he is facilitating fraud.
This pattern of fraud, tolerated and practiced by the faculty of U of Wi's medical school, is a BLACK EYE for an institution of higher learning and risks alienating donors and harming recruitment efforts. It calls into question the professional ethics of all medical students who have matriculated out of their program.
It's time for a "Come to Jesus" moment like Yale Law had when it repudiated Bill Clinton for his "depends on what is is" legalistic parsing. They made it clear he did not learn those tactics from them.
What will the University of Wisconsin do to ensure their reputation, that of their students and other faculty is not tarnished by these flagrantly fraudulent malcontents?

The Wisconsin Board of medical Examiners should be deluged with complaints about this fraud.
Doubtful, I know of several well to do doctors that voulunteer at free clinics. I’m sure that a portion of their patients are on medicaid.
Lying, cheating and stealing...it is the liberal way.

They need to be given drug tests when they return!
Here’s the response to my email to the president of the University of Wisconsin:
President Reilly forwarded your message to me. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We will thoroughly investigate these allegations, and take appropriate actions as indicated.

Subject: Felonious activity by doctors
Dear Sir,
It has come to my attention that you have doctors associated with the university that have openly and publicly engaged in felonious activity. The doctors are:
Hanna Keevel
James Shropshire
Bernard Micke
I am an RN and the mother of a college student. As an RN, I find it reprehensible that a doctor, particularly one associated with a university, would so blatantly and publicly engage in both illegal and unethical behavior. As the mother of a college student, this is not the example I want set for my daughter. I believe in a person’s right to protest and exercise free speech. I do not support protests or free speech where licensed professionals such as doctors and teachers commit unlawful acts of fraud to do so. If this is allowed, we are no longer a civil society but have succumbed to anarchy. I ask that you swiftly address this situation that has occurred at the Wisconsin capital with your associates handing out sick notes without an examination. These doctors that have engaged in felonious activity need to be immediately fired and have their licenses revoked by the Wisconsin Medical Board. I hope you’ll address this immediately and do the right thing. They have placed a dark mark on all medical professionals.
Regards,
Patricia XXXXXX, RN
That’s a huge dept. and the UW employs hundreds, if not thousands, of doctors. I know this doc as a former colleague. I do not support his actions. Let’s just remember that the U employs and has trained a lot of people who were not involved in this activity.
