As an aside, I see that there's a new expression, along with "Hail Mary pass," that is going to be used by people who wouldn't think *once* about asking for her intercession. IMO, this usage of the title of the Patroness of our country is extremely disrespectful.
Thanks for listening.
Tom Coburn is a real disappointment. He used to be an honest conservative. Now...not sure what he is, but I hope Oklahomans can come up with someone to run against him next election.
Well there's the problem, an always fertile field for Rats and Rinos to get together and screw us again!
As an abstract proposition, many of the personal deductions (Charitable; Residential Mortgage Interest; local taxes) are probably bad public policy. The Mortgage Interest Deduction is part of the reason for the Real Estate debt bubble. It ought to be eliminated.
The Tax Reform answer is that we determine how many dollars of tax revenue are gained by eliminating the deductions and pro rate that to tax rate reductions for all taxpayers across the board--the rate structure goes down to raise the same number of dollars we raised with higher rates and allowable deductions.
Coburn is a great man of impeccable integrity. On tax reform, he thinks like a baby doctor--he needs a tax lawyer to explain to him what he is doing.
I feel much the same, but I am pinning my hopes on these new Governors. If we can get them to stand strong and push back, then we just might have a chance for the private sector to get it’s feet back under them.
And thanks much all of you, for the great response when I had to run. I cannot wait to sit down tonight and hammer out my letter to Saxby and all of his friends...
May God give us strength.

If you are serious FRiend, then so are we, because while I was out running errands I was multitasking, and we WILL find someone to oust these jokers.
The good news is we have plenty of time, and the bad news is - we have plenty of time : /

Good to hear. Saxby is totally unwilling to listen to reason unless enough citizens get after him. Sounds like we need to get a LOT of Georgians fired up on this, and speak rationally with Coburn.
Thank you for the input.

Legislation must originate in the House. The senate can bleat and hoot all it wants.
