Who said anything about an opinion? It was a radio interview. The words I recall were spoken by the Senator (D). I knew, or cared nothing about the issue at the time; and less about the business of hiding out, to avoid forming a quorum (although I found that oddly amusing). What stuck with me was the quote -- which, it turns out the Senator stole from Huey Long.

“We have no argument about CBC bias.”
Then I apologize for being so harsh.

For budget matters, Wisconsin law requires 3/5 of the total to be present.

Are there any bills that require a simple majority on the table to be voted on? Can the Republicans pass other things while the Democrats are away and then put this back on the table once a Democrat shows up to object to something?

Yeah, that quote wasn't well known in 1979, so it's definitely possible you heard him steal the line. In Louisiana, it's pretty common for people to refer to men or women of any age as boys and girls, so I don't think Long was making a pedo joke.
It also definitely wasn't something Long said to a reporter. It was something he said to one of his cronies that got repeated.

When does the “noobie” period end so that people won’t have their opinions dumped on?
I’ve never been able to figure that out.

Yep...they need to round up only one dem.
I remember when that happened in TX. It was over redistricting. The TX dems fled to NM, and Gov. Perry sent the Texas Rangers to round them up.
It didn’t work out well for them, and it won’t work out well for the WI dems, either.
I don’t think that OFA is a remnant. It’s out front and center.

Gee, I thought Conspiracy was against the Law. All we need is a charge to link it to.
Conspiracy to act like third graders?
Conspiracy to act like Democrats?
No, those two charges are the same.
Conspiracy to hope nobody kicks your Politico elitist asses?

Reading the comments at the WaPo is entertaining. Lots of commie-speak about “workers rights” and the poor, downtrodden government-class teachers.
The Democratic Party has been relentless in demonizing and pursuing the destruction of the private sector’s middle class. They’ve done it and now they don’t like the results.

When does the noobie period end so that people wont have their opinions dumped on? Ive never been able to figure that out.LOL! Well, my opinions are still dumped on....but not because I'm a noob. Unfortunately they are normally dumped on by people with very recent sign up dates, such as the person on this thread, or others with (usually) a 2004-2006 sign up date. Those with recent sign up dates I call "noobs", those with older dates are called "trolls". In this case the noob is looking for info, about Tea Parties....notice the noob gave no info of it's own....it was trolling.

Hard to believe how long ago that was now but the Texas dems fled to Oklahoma in 2003 over the congressional redistricting.
I'm wondering who ends up footing the bill for these dems to stay in Illinois? Any government credit cards should be cut off immediately. I hope they're made to reimburse the state.
