Of course, that’s been obvious all along. But I think destroying Israel is his first priority. Or maybe it’s just that the opportunity has arisen first.

Not just apparently. It means apparently but falsely. There is a huge difference, especially in the context in which you used it.

You want to be the Sturmbahnfuhrer of English usage, that's your problem. Here's what I wrote: That's what Egypt ostensibly was, though the people never fully appreciated it, and allowed it to be ruled by autocrats. Gee, isn't that what we're seeing happening here? I stand by it with no apology.

Whether used as a synonym for "apparently" or for "apparently but falsly", it can work either way. Egypt was set up as an apparent democracy, but was not governed as such. Get a life.

Words have distinct meanings. Go ahead and use any you choose, but don’t be surprised when you are questioned about their misapplication. As many times as I reread your original post, I’m still not clear about the point you are trying to make.

“This comes after Obama campaigned for Mubarak’s overthrow.”

Wait a half hour. Some one in the 0 admin. will have a different story!

This whole Egyptian affair is Obama’s Waterloo. It’s bringing him down fast. He has almost ZERO support for his handling of the matter.

So—the Egyptian people lose; the American people win by ousting their petty dictator in 2012?

My take is that Obama-Soros,Inc. knew that this would not be good for USA - and had it been; Obama’s thumb would never have found itself in Egypt’s pie.

...that the Obama administration is basically clueless.../ This pretty much describes everything Obama has done from day one./

Don't think Obama is clueless. . .do think he is evil however; and the fact that he has now referred himself - per Reagan copying attempts - as the 'Gipper' does raise the ante a bit; not on his being evil; but if, like Reagan, in his post-retirement years - he is suffering some dementia or just a drug induced one.

This pushes the boundary of what is his mega-narcissism into another zone, altogether.

So, for how long do we watch America be destroyed? Is anyone in our Military having fantasies per escorting Obama out of our Oval Office?

Of course, we have - I think we still have - our Constitution. America needs to face up to the realities of what is a Manchurian President and do something while there is still a tree to hang onto as we try and slow our descent on Obama's slippery slope to hell.

“Flame as you wish, but publicly voicing support for a dictator over an angry population was simply not an option, unless you want to call into question every pronouncement we have made on the international stage for the past 60 years or more.”

I actually agree with you. “This is for the Egyptians to work out” is about the best he could have done, while working behind the scenes to promote a slow and deliberate transition headed by the military.

But that’s not what Zero did. He called for Mubarak to step down. “Now.” He appeared to be doing his best to panic the powers that be into an immediate dissolution of the gvt. and an immediate coalition government, which would have resulted in a quick MB takeover. Fortunately for Egypt, the Egyptian military was having none of that. Maybe he was working behind the scenes to achieve that lousy but probably the best possible result from a bad situation. His Nat. Intelligence director’s public attempt to whitewash the MB as primarily secular argues against that.

Contrast that with his behavior regarding Iran and Honduras, which ranged from effective to active support of monsters. All you have to do in Zero’s book to merit his support against the people is to be anti-american.

With Egypt under his belt, he has now turned his guns back on Honduras.

Are they actually now openly admitting that they did not act in the best interest of the US by supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and fomenting the overthrow of Egypt?

How else can this point be squared?

Obama has not acted faithfully to his vow to lead on behalf of the best interests of America, that makes what he did tantamount to treason.

I hope Egypt ends up a secular republic based on democratic voting with freedom and justice for all that doesn't wage war on Israel.

You know, when the people in Gaza had their "free and fair elections" we in the West (not necessarily "we freepers") presumed this would result in stability and sanity. But what did the people in Gaza vote for freely and fairly? They voted to be ruled by Hamas.

So where was the media to show us who and what the Egyptians were rallying for? What? Silence? News blackout? Whoda' thunk!?!? OF COURSE the people of Egypt want the Muslim Brotherhood! But you think the liberal media would ever let the public get wind of that? Ha.

Was the first of a series of Prime Ministers in Iran after the Shah was booted.

He was either hunted down in France and assassinated or hung, as were the next few who came after him, until Iran totally gave up on secular government and was taken over by Khomeni.

The process between the fall of the Shah and the Mullahs was at least a year.

Look for instability in Egypt for some time.

I was thinking of Sadegh Ghotbzadeh, who succeeded Bani Sadr.

Ghotbzadeh was hung, after attempting to overthrow Khomeni.
