Passions are high, and Egypt is one of the most anti-American countries in the world. I could see pro-Mubarak protesters willing to beat up American reporters because of Obama throwing Mubarak under the bus...but I could also see the “pro-democracy” side doing it just because they’re Americans, or to rob them, or because they were newsmen, or just for no reason whatsoever. Mobs do not always act in easily predictable ways.

Prayers for these people....but, isn’t it just a metaphor for these people.....???? Neither sides are good.
Shallow grave.
I’ll bet they are demanding the press pay them for interviews and/or just shaking them down
Palkot was beaten badly and Wiig may have a broken jaw.
This isnt the first time Wiig has seen trouble on the job. In 2006, Wiig was held hostage by gunmen on the Gaza Strip.

Several journalists have been attacked or threatened, including Fox Business Network’s Ashley Webster and Fox News’ Greg Palkot.
Webster tells Fox News that security burst into his hotel room and forced the cameraman off the balcony, shouting that they will kill them.
“This crowd has been very angry toward journalists,” he told Fox News.
Greg Palkot, covering the growing violence at Tahrir Square, was also confronted by several pro- and anti-government protesters. In the middle of the chaos, Palkot said that 30 rioters, with the help of an Egyptian military officer, fended off a large crowd of people and allowed Palkot and his cameraman to slip down a back alley and into a small hotel.

Prayers sent up for them and their loved ones. I heard Rush Limbaugh say an ABC news reporter was threatened with beheading. Hannity talking about all of this and most of it is listed on the Drudgereport he said.
Inspiring.
they better leave before Friday when the mosques let out and Obama sends his buds another veiled message
world TIME Exclusive: CBS’s Lara Logan and Crew Detained in Cairo As Violence Escalates
(Now, how about Christiane Amanpour - is she 'still' safe?)
The New York Times’ Nicholas Kristof also warned his colleagues via Twitter that police were aggressively raiding hotels, looking for journalists.
Maybe now the press may wonder why they didn’t report on the birth issuue? Chickens coming home to roost I suppose.
That’s what happens when you see one or two million protestors in a nations capital then immediately declare world wide that those one or two million speak for a nation of 83 million people!!!
WTF is fairly grave injuries but have now been released from the hospital?
Makes no sense.
A bad turn for the worse. It sounds as if all journalists are being targeted; story after story on journalists being attacked or detained.
Sorry, but ‘fairly grave’ and ‘released from hospital’ doesn’t jive.
well, maybe it’s not a good idea that they stay in a hospital right now, they’d better be packing it up
Blows to the head can be deadly, time to get them to an area where they can be properly treated.
Palkot is the epitome of a professional journalist. He is by no stretch of the imagination a provoker nor an agitator.
Where is Katie Couric? I bet hunkered down in a safe place somewhere or she got out of Egypt already. Does anyone know?
