"Why wasn't Michelle at this affair??

She came out with O

P.S. I don't think the dress was bad, but it wasn't appropriate for the event. Those silver things on it shone like large sequins. OY!

She shook hands with Hu and then she disappeared. POOF! I had the TV on and I was looking for her, but she must have gone inside again.

I can just imagine a Chinese teacher with a really condescending sense of humor teaching the Obamanette a phrase in Chinese that she says means "I am very pleased to meet you", but actually means "Mulattoes are like dogs to the Chinese, except they don't taste as good".

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Why would a 9 year old American kid be learning Chinese in the first place. Gee, daddy must really have a great planfor America.

Contrast this puff piece to anything about the Palin kids.

Jim Rogers has not only moved his family to China, he insists they learn Mandarin fluency. He sees China as the future dominant trading power on the planet. ANd he is probably right! Sasha may be our first Chinese speaking president ... if the dead-soul progressives succeed in their agenda.

Isn’t it interesting that if Sasha had been conceived in China, she would’ve been aborted. The one child rule, you know. She would’ve been a goner.

Her class is studying about China...or chinese....?? Really...the Chinese language at age 9 ???????

In Colorado, some public schools teach languages (including Chinese) in kindergarten. Language acquisition is a lot easier for young children than it is for adults, so it makes sense to start teaching them when they're young.

My husband speaks three languages besides English and I speak one other. He started earlier than I did which is probably why he learned so much more.

Right now, we are weighing whether or not we'd like to learn Mandarin or Japanese as a family project. I grew up knowing a few words of Japanese, but according to a friend who speaks both, Mandarin is easier to learn.

I agree. It is a GOOD thing for children to learn foreign languages, as many as possible. I don’t speak any foreign language fluently; I wish that had been offered in my elementary school (they didn’t do that, back in those days). And Chinese is very difficult. I’m impressed.

Chow. Au revoir. (that’s about the extent of my foreign language expertise.)
