You guys need to lighten up & might I add that there is a difference between accents & dialect. A southerner has a distinct accent as do we northerners, however, a certain race may have a certain dialect.

Well, none of the fair-weather talking head ‘conservatives’ wanted to be called racists for questioning ANY aspects of Soetoro’s background.

patlin, I’ll give you a pass and assume that you’re trying to adopt the new “gentler and kinder” approach to political dialogue.
However, you’re just plain wrong here. bgill and I live here in Texas, and we are just stating simple facts. We know the myriad Texas dialects and the accents and whatever else you may want to call them.
It is plain as day for those of us with trained ears and a lifetime as Texans that the black callers took one side, the white callers the other. I wouldn’t expect someone from the frozen north to recognize the differences in speech, but I certainly can.
